But doesn't those ring tones and pictures reside in the main 256MB of ROM? So deleting those will free up program memory otherwise known as the RAM? OK, I'll try it when I get home tonight.
*
mate, try delete those files, if it can be deleted, meaning it is in the RAM, files in ROM u can do nothing bout them... Read Only Memory mar... hope this helps

bro, you cant to that comparison like that..

ks20 by spec is indeed lower by atom exec. exec is 520mhz and respond is better... smile.gif but that is IF it is using modded WM5/WM6. if the original shipped ROM, i guess both are actually on par. i use atom, but not exec, and atom is terrible... sweat.gif

old PPC doesnt mean it isnt good. bankrupted doesnt mean the items is bad. I like O2 XDA IIi and IMHO, speed is marvellous when the turbo processr is on. only thing the battery life... lagi cepat drain.

HI guys, had a few question over here regarding Active Sync 4.5 for Windows XP a.k.a Windows Mobile Device Center for Vista icon_question.gif

1- My work PC is using XP Pro and I use Active Sync 4.5 to syncronize my contacts and email address in my Outlook. My question is, how do we disconnect Active Sync properly as whenever I took out the USB cable, sometimes the phone will automatically activate Active Sync by itself and this is really annoying as I have to manually close down the program (It also cause battery drain faster) cry.gif

2- SInce I use ACtive Sync, whenever I go to place that have Wifi , I cannot browse the Internet . But I can still browse Internet using normal 3GH/SDPA connection. Do u guys know why is this happening?  rclxub.gif

FYI, my work PC is connected to domain and Exchange Server.
*
1. well, WM has this noticable problem in certain problem. its because of the registry. my d810 is the same too. and i dont see how it will drain the battery.

2. erm, you did activate the wifi setting, didnt you?

bro, my friend already forwarded the forumers' query to R&D in india. cross finger, any update, i assure lowyat.net members would know 1st

got simple explaination d. Besides the WM6 software tat took up the memory, do not forget too some of the pre-loaded ringing tones & pictures. delete few of these items, u will see a change. Cheers!
*
yes, those preloaded ringtones are annoying and space waster in PDA. use your active sync explore to go into the ppc's windows folder and delete those unneeded ringtones. you probbably free up few mbs.

Hi guys,

Just want to share with you on a cool soft keyboard, CooTek Touchpal. It's optimised for one hand usage. There are 2 versions of it - Standard and Professional. The standard one is free and already has all the features that I want from a SIP. rclxms.gif

I installed it on my KS20 and so far so good. Still getting use to it though.

Check it out -> http://www.cootek.com/index.aspx
*
touchpal is something like P1i's keyboard. and it is quite useful on during sms. but when you input something during browsing.. it will be abit annoying because it will prompt up unidentified words; asking whether you want to add or not. oh well, i like how pcm keyboard does its job.

*
nope. it will free ROM, not RAM.. RAM is for those applications to run. its like your PC RAM.. it is fixed unless you know how to mod.

I wanna try to arrange a WM6 training cum presentation from Microsoft team in Malaysia. I have yet to confirm, will correspond with the Microsoft people to check if they willing to allow their trainer to train us.

Anyone interested?

korek korek korek.. tongue.gif Cos since my atom processor is 520MHz... just wondering is there much differences in terms of the speed of opening applications. Old PPC doesn't mean that is bad phone though.. i'm using a custom modded WM6.1 pro for atom exec.. but the look of atom exec.. well u can say its the downside of old phone.. biggrin.gif in fact, i stil got frens using the XDA II phones.. they just like the big screen.. no pda nowadays can compare to it.. sweat.gif maybe D1000 though..

how's the speaker of ks20? most website reviews said that the speaker is terrible.. is it true?

since you are using WM6/6.1 for ur atom, you might find KS20 not as responsive as your exec. but the best bet is u have to test the unit yourself... and correction, its U1000... KS20 is soft, but i think its somewhere around Atom, only thing, atom's speaker is in front, so KS20 will be softer sound than atom. If i have the money, i will get O2 XDA IIi.. sometimes, old skool does rox...

If I am not mistaken the v10f ROM is a French variation according to xda-developers forum. It'll be on a different language so better wait awhile for the English release.

On another note, I have followed recommendations to buy the Martin Fields Overlay Plus for LG KS20 and it finally arrived today! I've just applied the screen and back protection and they are superb. They fit just nice on the screen and buttons. Now I can finally use it without worrying about soiling it with fingerprints and scratching it every time I attempt to clean it. It is extremely resistant to scratches and the stylus. The stylus will just slide smoothly on the surface. Also, I felt that finger performance (non-stylus) is improved too.

Anyway I'll try to take some pictures once the film have cured. Probably give a day or two. So stay tuned!

I ordered online from Martin Field's website. I think around the same price if bought from Singapore. Frankly speaking its a little pricey for two pieces of plastic but I don't care because without it, my KS20 will be reduced to a scratch in no time. Ordering is a swift because they process your credit details within the same day. The items originate from Singapore so it'll take around 3-4 days before reaching KL, although the website stated an average of 10 business days for delivery.

Anyway I'll be taking some pictures soon when the overlay fully cured. So you take a look and decide if you like it before dumping money for it. tongue.gif

okay, a fair word.

tytn II's speaker is good, so comparing to ks20, you might find it slightly soft. i compare it with my D810. oh yeah, its more or less like Asus P535 or Dopod P800w. but it is depending on the mp3 encoded.

as for battery performance, you are a tytnII user, you should know how PDA's battery performance will be.

and signal reception as well, PDA phone is not famous for its reception. drop call are still issue for most of PDA phone, due to radio firmware.
but if you are used to PDA phone, then i guess KS20 reception will not differs.
