QUOTE(randoll @ Apr 21 2021, 09:18 PM) You can have your own choice but you don't have the right to say other brand half baked if you never tried them. Their brand in Malaysia is half baked. Oversea i dont know. But in Malaysia after sales service cannot match the japanese or local. For japanese, Mazda is really good value.

For japanese, Mazda is really good value. Brand and after sales service are 2 different things ya. You could have put it better by saying the brand with half baked after sales service. Mazda is overprice for me. Low spec high price. Their only selling point is they drive better than their counterparts, targeting drivers more than family man.

QUOTE(berann @ Apr 21 2021, 08:44 PM) Interior surpass long ago, big margin?.Japanese interior look horribly outdated? what a joke. lol..compare yourself 2019 Civic vs Elantra. which one horribly outdated?? Honestly speaking Civic is really value for money. The same price as latest Corolla with its toplek specs. But other than Civic, none else. Only Civic worth. HRV also topkek. City i dont impressed with ot. CRV and Accord too expensive. Jazz kena tapau by Myvi long time ago While Toyota, only Yaris and Cios boleh harap other than their top end line up This post has been edited by clockpulses: Apr 21 2021, 09:43 PM

QUOTE(KineticKill @ Apr 21 2021, 09:45 PM) Think earlier. Also reliability, availability of spare parts, service cost etc. Yea, it explains why you preferred japs. Most probably the kimchi is still selling crap when you reach car buying age. You can go and read more what other people have been saying these past few years. If you compare ori parts japs and kimchi are more or less the same. OEM cannot compare la as japs have the economy of scale so sure is cheaper and easily available. Reliability? If you never own 1 how do you know? Auntie uncle say?

Own few Kia from 1998. Really good car. especially K5. Now got latest camry, altis & RS5. But daily use 2008 conti. My cousin use HRV & city. Im not satisfied with it. Still prefer Kia, T & conti depend on usage.

So I am right about the spare parts, and by extension, service cost. Brand reliability. If you gonna spend 100k+, would you spend it on unpopular brand with unknown track record? It’s not like you can return the car after purchasing it if it is actually bad. Selling it? With that RV you can only

Just wanna say never try never know. If forever no try then just remain as katak di bawah tempurung and keep getting sub standard product from well known brand. Do you know when you buy well known brand, a big part of your money goes to buying the brand than buying actual product?

Google search is your argument against uncle auntie story? You try food. You try clothes. You don’t try houses or cars. It’s a commitment. Unless you don’t mind having something bad you’re stuck with for years without any good way to get rid of it. Brand reliability does not have to be expensive. There’s a good reason why Myvi is so popular. Personally, I much prefer conti.

I don’t know everything. But that’s a good 100k investment to know something. Most people will not make that investment and instead will stick with something reliable. Yeah. And for now it still looks like japs are Malaysians’ choice. Can go Proton’s route by shocking the market with cheaper cars, but their aftersales reputation is horrendous. So we’ll see what kimchi’s move’s gonna be.
