QUOTE(westlife @ May 9 2021, 10:58 AM) not until all the first wave countries have their first iPad Pro shipment done at least. Hopefully no later than June. This global shortage is delaying a lot of launch products.due to the shortage of hardware, i think this delay will be prolonged than usual. QUOTE(westlife @ May 9 2021, 10:59 AM) Is it worth it to get 16gb of ram ? Was thinking of getting the 512gb and use the TB4 for additional required external storage, but the limiting factor is 8gb of ram. |

QUOTE(westlife @ May 10 2021, 01:21 AM) unless u are really into professional video editing works, else i dun think u can utilise the storage as well as the 16GB RAM on an iPad. Agreed, I still have my windows gaming laptop to do most of the heavy task, will stick to the 512gb version with cellular . Further more i still need to buy the magic keyboard and apple care, hence the savings can be used for that. there is an rumor suggests the upcoming WWDC apple may release iPadOS version of final cut pro 10 etc. which it believe if it is the case, the extra storage and 16GB RAM will only come into use. for normal user, i dun think it is worth it. TB4 capable external device is not cheap, even the dongle to enable TB4 is is not cheap either. the storage options price gap is quite significant. unless u are really into the things mentioned above, else one may better off to save the money to buy a base model mac mini/macbook air/pro that has the best of both worlds. i am not into the above categories, i will rather save the extra paying to the high storage/RAM that i will never use use. personally i find that 256GB will be a nice spot for normal users. 128GB maybe best bang for buck, however, i prefer to pay a bit more for future proof just in case i really utilizes more. and my current iphone is 256GB, i also wants to have my iPad Pro to have the enough storage size for me to restore my iPhone backup in case of needs. also i may potentially use the iPad cameras to take photos or videos given that they are very powerful. It may be weird to do so but i do not want to limit theirs capabilities too. i will likely to use my iPhone as my main device for photos and 4k videos taking especially after i change my iPhone X to the latest iPhone. For me, 256GB WiFi + cellular 11-inch iPad Pro is what i will be going for. mini-LED is cool but i will not go for 12.9-inch as i want to carry my iPad Pro around with me. next year 11-inch may get mini-LED too if supplies become stable. however, i could not wait further as my ipad mini 3 is not with me and I have no iPad to use for more than one year now. I had also delayed my purchase last year for the 2020 one, so this year 2021 one confirmed i will not delay my purchase again. As this is my first time buying an Ipad Pro, do you have any recommendation on screen protector options? Cause my previous versions are always naked This post has been edited by fish@5311: May 10 2021, 02:37 AM |

QUOTE(westlife @ May 10 2021, 03:50 AM) Given that iPad Pro is so ex. Go with tempered glass and not screen protector. Noted and thank you for your feedback. Will shop around accordingly for a tempered glass SP . The only tempered glass I used before which is lasting and remain clear after many years of usage is Moshi brand. Not cheap but really good. But also very very very difficult to find. The rest of branded tempered glass such as Spigen is totally trash. Dropped one time also get cracked. Nowadays I dun buy branded tempered glass anymore even for my iPhones. Just buy from Shopee for those no brand cheap one and just change new one when it gets cracked. Much better move than buying expensive and get cracked as easily as no brand one too. |

QUOTE(Crusader @ May 13 2021, 03:07 PM) SG or MY ? Or which configuration you choose? I just checked a few configuration on the MY site and still able to order. For MY site. I saved the order in favourite and was unable to check out. I contacted the Apple Support Chat, and they verified the 1st batch of pre-orders are sold out. Decided to pre-order it with Machines instead, as they are the only retailer with stock for WIFI + Cellular. Sigh |

Thanks sifus
However due to my own impatience to resolve technical issues earlier with the funny response from Apple Support Dude, I pre-ordered it from Machines website instead. Nevertheless, can't wait for it to arrive. Any recommendations on case/skin that protect the I-Pad Pro's side which is compatible with the Magic Keyboard? Was looking at Pitaka Magez case, but would like to know my other options. |

QUOTE(Crusader @ May 13 2021, 06:50 PM) Now the headache is getting the 2021 case, so many seller in Lazada listed their product like "compatible with 2020 and 2021 model". But 2021 model is 0.5mm thicker than 2020 !!! You can go for the better named official brands such like Spigen, UAG, or ESR. Usually their products are of good fit and they work closely with Apple for the mould fitting. I am also looking for a slim case to accompany my magic keyboard case...but can't find one yet.* hope to get the case/cover before I receive the ipad. Crusader liked this post

QUOTE(Ydontukickme @ May 13 2021, 07:54 PM) Ultimately it depends on two things1. Do you need that Mini LED tech ? Cause it mostly for pro creators. If yes, then it is the 12.9 2. What is your tolerance for portability? The 11 with exception to the screen, is identical for spec to spec to the 12.9. If you want something portable and carry easy for long duration on your hand, then the 11 is the best choice. |

Based on the switch pre order FAQ page, pre-orders will start shipping out on the 21st of May 2021. Store collection period is from 21st to 28th . It seems we may get the device earlier than the 25th depending on your location and delivery mode. ![]() ![]() Source link : https://switch.com.my/pre-order-ipad-pro-m1-journey/# Donchay liked this post

For those who pre-ordered, So far what cases have you guys purchased? I am still in a dilemma to buy one, as most brands have not launch for the 12.9 inch 5th gen 2021.
I have ordered the magic keyboard from Apple, but am looking for another case that is good for sketching and note taking. This post has been edited by fish@5311: May 16 2021, 07:05 AM |

Thanks for sharing bro, looks good with decent protection and price. Will shortlist it for purchase, have you used ESR before? is the fit and finish good ? Yeap no hurry, just that I am super excited to get the accessories for it π. Am also looking at getting the Logitech Combo Touch case, as it is a 3 in one. https://www.logitech.com/en-my/products/ipa....html?crid=1762 |

QUOTE(booooster @ May 16 2021, 02:53 PM) hi there, yep I have used it before on previous iPads, they are quite well fitted, covers all over which I like, there are few reviews of similar case for the iPad Air all over youtube will link some at the bottom of this reply. Thanks bro!The quality of their cases are average but for the price you pay for RM70 they are quite alright I guess. Yuppp that case is nice but yeah the price probably gonna be at least RM1k Iβm guessing and that one no idea when Malaysia will have it. https://youtu.be/Et1CAHFa_pU https://youtu.be/Xpii2YGZsQQ https://youtu.be/H8QOzZERt70 is this your first ever iPad? I know first iPad Pro. Nope, this is my second iPad, I had the iPad 2nd gen which I was using from 2012 till it died late last year. Shows how reliable this tablets are. And after the cheap Pasar Malam case I bought for it spoiled, I have been using it naked for the past 6 years as I could not find a replacement for it. Never really used an iPad on a pro level back then as iOS was similar to the iPhone, and most of my productivity and leisure software is for x86 based platforms. So for non work related consumption, will go with my iPhone + iPad , and I have my Razer blade and dell XPS to help me out for on the go gaming and work. Was considering to get a surface pro actually as I am a keyboard person, but when I saw that the new iPad had the M1 and magic keyboard support, was thinking why not ? My only concern is if iPad OS will live up to my expectations for this purchase. This post has been edited by fish@5311: May 16 2021, 03:52 PM |

QUOTE(ikanbilis @ May 16 2021, 05:46 PM) Wow your ipad 2 sure last long! I also had the 2nd gen ipad which lasted till 2017. Then i changed to Ipad pro 10.5 which is still working well till today. This will be my first Ipad pro 12.9 Yeah to my surprise it did last that long, but also is because I used it for light task such as surfing, streaming, and light gaming. Stop updating the iOS since version 7, as it was struggling to cope, hence also lost support for app updates, but am able to live with it. The only thing that failed in between is the battery which I changed twice due to normal wear and tear. And that 16gb was not even fully utilized π. But now as it died for good, I wanted to replace it the iPad Air 4 initially, but read that it is more worth it to go Pro instead so...I pulled the trigger for the 12.9. It will definitely blow my experience to the next level, but am worried that this new gens of iPad wont be able to last that long anymore as new apps and Os requirements outgrow hardware capabilities within a faster time frame than previous years. QUOTE(booooster @ May 16 2021, 06:04 PM) Haha I had an iPad 3 (first one with retina display) back in 2012, found iOS too many limitations for a tablet passed it to my brother after around a year which he used until about 2.5/3 years ago when he dropped it so didnt bother to fix it any more Yeap am hopeful for iOS 15 as well, this new Pro is indeed a huge leap for iPad hardware, now it needs the software to match it. Will tune in to WWDC updates in June...and see what's upcoming. I then bought an iPad Mini 2 (first Mini with retina) in April 2014 and it has been serving me up until now haha! Lets just hope iPad OS 15 (coming soon) will make the iPad Pro (more Pro) and to make use of that M1 chip and XDR Display, after all primary reason why we are going for 12.9 if you ordered that. In between, nice collection of the First Retina, First mini Retina, and now your First Liquid Retina XDR! Way to go bro! |
