This iMac lineup is simply a planned obsolescence. The camera doesn't have center stage despite having the same chip as iPad Pro. There is also a price hike if we compare it to last gen (cheapest model lacking ethernet port and 2 usb ports). The introduction of colors is simply a push on consumer to buy new item. I bet iMac 2022-2023 will have new color options.
I recommend everyone to watch "This is why we can't have nice things" (Cartel deals and explanation how companies make sure they sell more). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5v8D-alAKE
24” screen with 4.5k resolution 2 fans for the m1 chip Pro Mic system and speaker (noise cancellation mic! And spatial audio!) Support Dolby atmos!!!! (Damn my airpods pro spatial audio finally can use???) New set of keyboard and mouse I like the blue color
Damn....

Does 24 inch screen seems a little small as currently there are 27 inch and 30 inch gaming monitors in the market?
24-inch seriously is quite a common size for monitors in the market, not big of course but also not small. while 27-inch and above will be suitable gamer or designer...
not a big problem for general users actually. i believe the second iMac screen size will be out will be at at least 30-inch and above that is suitable for professional users.
my guess is apple is waiting to release it together with macbook pro (higher end models and bigger screens) together with bigger screen iMac that uses more powerful version of M1 chips.

I believe those higher end models such as MacBook Pro 16 inch and iMac Pro comes with 30 inch would integrate with next generation M2 chip.
please don't flame me, but how well does the Magic Keyboard and Mouse work with Windows 10 ? ie will all the usual windows short-cuts work ?
Planing to get this all-in-one for my parents.
The current set up I have for them is 2013 MBA (Bootcamp) + 24" Monitor + Logitech KB/M combo + Speaker. All were new and everything apart from the MBA has been replaced at least once due to failure over the past 8 years.
So this would be the perfect all-in-one to replace the MBA which is starting to show it's age.
But :
1. How well does Magic Keyboard and Mouse work with Windows 10 ? 2. Without Bootcamp how well do M1 Macs run Windows 10 for web browsing / video watching ? 3. How good are the speakers typically on iMacs ?

M1 chipset mac will not suit you. go for intel chipset mac instead.
i just recently bought an refurbished mac mini (2018) with intel chipset due to this.
Magic keyboard and mouse in bootcamp will just work as per normal keyboard and mouse.

do all the hotkeys on Magic Keyboard work on Windows 10 ? ie Volume, Fingerprint sensor etc
another option for me would be to get a 2020 Intel MBA, but parent's don't really need a mobile workstation anymore compared to when I originally set this up for them.
also the 2013 MBA still works, so they still have the option to bring it around if necessary.

Most will work. Fingerprint sensor, u are talking using new touchid magic keyboard 2021 on a machine running bootcamp? I dun think so.
Even u buy a M1 mac and run arm-based technical preview version of windows 10. The Touch ID will not work too and it is not meant for windows.
