going to online problem, can i ask, do anyone ever face this b4 ?

i post this for asking about on9, i plug in my macbook pro with a LAN cable, but when i open safari i didn't run the google.com, i try many website also can't. my streamyx is working well. i go to system preferences > network > assist me > diagnostics. all the network status show green. (Built in Ethernet, network settings, ISP, Internet and server is in green) anyone can tell me y ? and that is for sometimes only. i'm using router ask well, some of my housemate they can on9, so i use there cable to have a try, but seem can't but when they pluged back to their laptop, they can access the line ? anyone can tell me y ?

check you IP address see whether you are using DHCP or manual. If it is in manual, switch to DHCP because you are using router

hey thx guys for posting again, ok i just set the DNS. hopefully it works, if there is the same problem i will post some or my problem here. thx ya, actually i just want to know how DNS solve my problem and how it help me to solve my problem? what did DNS do for my macbook pro ?

DNS : domain name server http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_name_systemit converts the English text names of servers here to the 1.2.3.4 which are the actual server addresses.

Don't bother to set it up manually if didn't yet try to set it automatic, or you already try set all automatic and also didn't work?

If its done manually, then probly wanna look at the router or whatever decide that's providing the DHCP stuff, and make sure that its giving out DNS as well. DHCP service not giving out the DNS server addresses is kinda a common problem.
