cry.gif I just moved in new accommodation last week. Unfortunately, there is a tenant who is breaking a house rule. I feel stress to stay with this tenant in a same unit because she makes noise at late night and early morning. Especially, when she open and close the entrance door. It wakes me up every time.
There were another 2tenants and the tenant wasn't here when I decided to take my room. Unfortunately, she just moved in earlier than me.
If i have known she is here, i didn't take the room. This is very unlucky.
Actually, i can't sleep well because some tenant came home late and makes noise and cooking strong smell food.

I just moved in this unit from this month, but not happy and uncomfortable. Even the property management team is helpless, they can warn her but they can't change her bad habits.
So i'm thinking to break contract and moving out again.
But I don't want to lose 1 month deposit!!

Give me advice!!

U mean she slams the door every time? Adjust the door closer if there is.

Looks like you are a light sleeper.

Anyways, like what someone said, if you can find a replacement and the Landlord allows it... it will be okay.

If not, you either forfeit or you just get earbuds for sleeping.

Sharing accomodation is never easy with few different people staying under one roof.

Tenants come and go. You may have good tenants this year and maybe not next year.

Try to reduce other expenses and rent a studio.

Unfortunately, sharing house while cheap, has its disadvantages, like sharing anything else.. Especially with people who are less than reasonable or considerate.

YES, but she doesn't know how to close door quietly. So annoyed. I couldn't sleep for a while since she made noise around 1.30am last night.
I have informed to management team. I guess that her habit. She doesn't understand how other feels.

One can always downgrade again ... just live with annoying co-tenants.

You should:-

1) Rent a studio unit.

or

2) Buy a house.

It took me 10 years to realize sharing a unit is a bad choice. So bad, it will actually affect your life.

You have too much expectation from housemates.

It would be better if you just rent whole house.
