HR03GT will only arrive on 31st Jan? And the price is a bomb~! Oh, and how do we pre-order? From you blackshirt?
Added on December 27, 2007, 2:53 amOh man, my IFX-14 that I bought a few weeks ago...just got back my motherboard and tried fitting it...it just won't~! My CM Praetorian is too shallow and there's a sliding panel that obstruct the back panel...sigh...

When is Thermalright going to manufacture fans of their own?

They may manufacture really good fans I'm tired of looking for good fans that's high CFM, RPM and low on dB...it's not easy to get good fans.

Yes indeed. My friend had a Zalman CNPS9700NT that I helped to sell (2nd hand) and it weighed more than the IFX-14. My IFX-14 is still in the box since the day I bought...sigh. No time to test.
Added on January 4, 2008, 12:28 amFor those wanting to buy HR07 or RAM fans, just go for the Ultra 120 Extreme...IFX is too fat.

QUOTE(clawhammer @ Jan 4 2008, 12:31 AM) On second thoughts, I should've bought the Ultra Extreme instead of IFX-14 Well, since I've purchased it, I'll just continue using until I get my WC set. You know what? Me too. Mine is even unused. Sigh...oh well. Maybe I can sell it for Ultra 120 Extreme with a good fan.

It is the design...the IFX-14 does not fit a lot of other Thermalright's own heatsinks. Once you use the IFX-14, you cannot use their RAM, Northbridge and MOSFET heatsinks...If you are using MSI's Circu-pipe, then you're a goner from the get-go.

I'll go watercooling on my next RIG. Probably a Nehalem. That time, I can afford it on my own

Yeah, that's the only way to use them. You can't place the fans on the side closest to the RAM. But some motherboards, like my P35C-DS3R that has 6 RAM slots (4 DDR2, 2 DDR3), there's not much space above DIMM1.

QUOTE(clawhammer @ Jan 4 2008, 01:35 AM) having only 1 fan in the middle isn't the most optimum setup for IFX-14 (unfortunately). Yeah...But it is the best for the budget though QUOTE(IcEMoCHa @ Jan 4 2008, 10:34 AM) My DIY custom WC project uses air cooler as radiator, custom reservoir + aftermarket cpu block... You better be careful with DIY kits. Any leaks in the chasis and you'll cry like a baby... This post has been edited by clayclws: Jan 5 2008, 03:05 PM

QUOTE(clawhammer @ Jan 5 2008, 03:11 PM) Fans are so cheap these days I mean if someone wants to get a cooler like IFX-14, he must be serious about the temps so why run it with only 1 fan Good fans don't come cheap la. FM123 is alrady RM65. S-Flex 160 is already RM80. you want to get 3? Calculate how much more. Best to just get Ultra 120 Extreme with a single fan. Added on January 5, 2008, 4:25 pmOh, and if any of you want a good 38mm fan, go lookup AllnGap. He has a Papst 38mm industrial fan. Very good airflow and very quiet. Saw the specs liaw. Good fans like NMB, ADDA, Sanyo Denki, Panaflo and Papst that aren't commercialized aren't easy to get. They are priced from RM20-50 depending on the size, CFM, RPM and dB.

QUOTE(clawhammer @ Jan 5 2008, 05:17 PM) Normally electrical shops would carry some since they are more for industrial usage. They perform just as well or even better than the Silverstone and priced a lot cheaper. Fan controllers can be easily made too (I had 2 on my rig) so that wouldn't be a big problem. For those which are on budget, those LED Icute's are a pretty good buy. I tried out a few 120mm and the Icute gives the best airflow and with that, I bought some (eventhough I don't really like those LED's at first) I think it all comes to personal preference but for me, I don't think it's worth to spend on that Silverstone fan. Too expensive and all because it's commercialized Silverstone and Scythe looks good...that's why. I myself wouldn't trust Icute. Maybe it's the name...I don't know. I prefer normal ones, no bling-bling, black and does not compete for attention within the chassis. Jalan Pasar is a popular place to get, but since it is so far away...I'm too lazy to go there all the time to have a look. Wish the electrical shops over at SS2 has some... This is turning out to be a fan thread pula. Let's discuss this over at: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/387771/

Best bang for the buck? Ultima-90 you can fit a 92mm and 120mm fan for a push-pull configuration.

Another question. If you were to use just one fan for any of the Thermalright products, will you set it to push or pull? Which offers better cooling performance?
