I have Sauvage EDT but the smell like BO in our hot and humid climate. It’s more of a cold weather scent.
I prefer my Tom Ford Oud Wood or Beau De Jour to Sauvage.. even my Ombré Leather smells better than CD Sauvage.. |

QUOTE(tahfeikei @ Apr 8 2021, 01:47 PM) Can find the latest price at Tom Ford KLCC or Pavillion. OUD Wood is probably around RM3k now for 250ml Decanter. My Beau De Jour was purchased recently at RM880 or so for 100ml. Ombré Leather should be the same price.Don’t buy online as they are mostly fake. Cheap yes but they are fake. |

Heck for all i care i could be wearing old spice and 40-50 year old cougars come flocking The thing with perfume is that you don’t want to smell like everyone else. So, the higher the price, the less chance that you will smell like everyone in the room. Tom Ford? wearing such a niche perfume could only attract the i was born this way flock...you like it does not mean you have to shove it down people's throat like it's the holy grail Tom Ford perfume is quite sophisticated. The top notes, mid and base notes are all very different so you will smell differently throughout the day as the perfume goes from top to mid to base notes. I collect perfumes. I have a lot of perfumes but my favorite by far are Tom Ford’s signature and private blend line. This is because unlike most other perfumes which are one dimensional and smell the same throughout its lifespan, Tom Ford stuff are very layered. Sillage and longevity are also very decent for his perfumes. I tend to enjoy fougere type of perfume for morning wear while leather scents are my signature scent for night wear. Weekends, I experiment with Aquatic scents and also the occasional Oud. I don’t like Orientals but I don’t mind Josh Lee’s Oud which is an oriental oud based perfume by a Penangnite. QUOTE(AyamBannedTwice @ Apr 8 2021, 07:45 PM) Sauvage smells alright until you start to sweat in the sweltering heat. Then the whale vomit scent floats up to the top. I believe it’s called ambergris. |

QUOTE(fuzzy @ Apr 8 2021, 07:47 PM) Some of the classics have been refomulated and watered down over the years like Drakkar Noir, Polo Green, Davidoff Cool Water and CK Obsession. I know that my vintage Drakkar Noir has a longer projection and sillage than my 2015 juice. Luckily I still keep vintage bottles of Polo Green, Cool Water and Obsession. The newer men’s perfume like Tom Ford’s Tuscan Leather (made famous by Drake) is a great frag. I use it extensively when I was travelling. Air stewardesses tend to gravitate towards strong smelling frags as your sense of smell tend to go as the plane ascends. I tried to love John Varvatos’s Artisan Blue but the Aquatic scent is not very long lasting and needs to be reapplied every 5 hours. Otherwise, Oud scent is quite sexy if you can pull it off. QUOTE(BS8110 @ Apr 8 2021, 08:29 PM) Does the Tom Ford Oud Wood scent last long? Only had chance to use Tom Ford Black Orchid in the past, didn’t last long for me. Oud Wood is long lasting but the sillage is quite short range. It becomes a skin scent in our warm weather after 6 hours. But it’s still there though and the good thing is that only your gf or wife can smell it on you when you kiss their neck. It’s a very posh scent though. Smells of rosewood and oud. It’s not a scent anyone can pull off. The thing with Tom Ford is that his scents are very niche. You either could pull it off or you can’t. I love some of his private blend stuff like Vanilla Tobacco but I can’t see myself wearing it though as it smells too sweet like a gingerbread on the dry down. QUOTE(BS8110 @ Apr 8 2021, 08:39 PM) If you want good projection and performance, try Josh Lee’s Oud. That shit projects like a beast in our tropical climate. It’s made by a Malaysian. Penangnite actually. And it’s actually quite decent frag and very cheap. His other perfume, the Georgetown is not very nice though. I smelt it and I didn’t like it. YMMV though. Ps - forgot to add that Josh’s Oud is an oriental type of perfume that uses Oud as its main ingredient. You may want to try it first before buying as most men might find Oriental scents too feminine but Josh brilliantly brings the animalistic Oud into the mix to balance out the femininity. QUOTE(dolce&gabbana @ Apr 9 2021, 11:26 AM) have u tried ombre nomade by lv? this smells like bo too, but a nice one. i always layer it with something though. I have not tried any of LV’s stuff yet as I have phobia of LV shops due to once my wife enters, it would be quite awhile before we leave the shop. I would usually sit down on their sofa playing handphone with the kids while the SA shows her the bags. Next time I will keep an eye out for their fragrances when I am there. |
