Currently using unifi 100mbps
Router: TP-Link Archer A6
Wifi Dongle: TP-Link T4U

I'm having problem with 5ghz wifi as the connection will keep disconnecting or lags up to 3 secs every 10 secs or so.
No problem with 2.4Ghz (Altho, half-speed).
Tried with another USB dongle (cheap one), same results.

Other devices can connect to the 5ghz signal without any problem.
And my previous PC (Intel NUC) also can connect without any problem.

Tried resetting the network and disabled a few windows components (a few tips when google the issue), but problem's still there.

Help needed as i can't fully utilise my internet speed...

Normally connected at USB 3.0 Hub.
Just now tried direct to the front USB port, still same.

Downloaded driver from TP-Link website and install. Same result.

Try change/manually specify the channel for wifi 5ghz in advanced settings and see, in case some other devices causing interference.

Also 5ghz doesn't penetrate walls as well as 2.4ghz.

Edit: Ah.. NVM... it was connected to a different wifi...
it's still disconnecting for 5ghz even after changing to different channel

Distance 10m.
PC in room, router at the end of the hall, with walls, between.

So, it's probably the USB wifi itself?
Possible to test it out if i brought the pc closer to the router?

Current update..

Last night. I manually switch the channel, and one of it works fine.
I tried the others, but dc still happens.
The pc is connected 100% of the time...

But just now, after a router reboot, the problem happens again...

ping before the reboot:

id say the router weak
btw u should ping router or local device. dont ping outside one
use large byte -l 60000 or some big number

When i first got the unifi, i changed to a different router due to not getting full speed on 5ghz.
But now change pc, a different problem occurs...

Not sure how to check signal's dbm on windows...
But the signal show i'm getting 4bars? and ~70% signal strength in cmd.

And I don't think the router is hot enough (at least to my touch)

Tested just now...
Tried putting the wifi near to the router..
Seems like i'm getting 100% speed and uptime on the short test i've performed.

Getting back to the room, only managed to get a few times of non-disconnection.
But most of the time, same thing...

So, i'm suspecting the usb wifi can't really connect to the 5ghz properly.

What probably solution should I take?
Should I get a repeater/extender?
Change a new router (with stronger signal)?
Or buy a cheap router and make it as a bridge?

The signal went erratic and almost useless when I launch these two programs
wifiinfoview and wirelessnetview
So, i'm not sure about the reading
Launching this program causes the signal to drop a lot.
The RSSI is the signal strength, right? It jump around -11 to -30

And as u can see, right now.. the signal is somehow stable.

The usb wifi are connected to a hub ~50cm aparts from the PC itself.
The router are stuck to the wall, above head height.

Getting clear line of sight, is a bit impossible at this point.
And using extension cable, will be messy.

Yes... but currently it only affect the USB wifi on the PC only as the other devices, can connect to the 5ghz without any problem.
So, suspect it is whether the USB wifi it self is weak... or something's wrong with my Windows.
Haven't tried yet with other pc/laptop available
