For dividend yield it is better for you check the dividend track payout record by company rather than looking into industry

But by far Insurance would have stable dividends payout unless major disasters happens

I wouldn’t touch Takaful as dividend stocks considered dismal doh.gif

Better off buying Maybank or Allianz Malaysia instead

Question:

If a company maintained a positive free cash flow and retained earnings from previous years but made less profit and lower ROE for the latest FY, is that usually enough to cause a drop in dividend payout?

payout is discretionary

can be future outlook not so good... or got plans for expansion... and many reasons more

Usually dividend is given to retain shareholders rather have them selling off

just got dividend for UOAreit and Sentral Reit..
too bad their share price went down a bit.

Will buy more if it improves, and if Covid dies down so that people can go back to office again. thumbup.gif

why do u say that? you think Covid gonna be around after 2-3 years?
Now start to have Covid cure lor - search Pfizer's "paxlovid" just that it is still overpriced and hard to get. Will surely be easier to buy in the future. And who knows what other miracle cure for Covid in a few mths time. Everyone is focused on combating this virus.

One company that I really like is UP. they are just getting stronger and stronger.

They have just declared 85sen dividend, making it to RM1.15 dividend payout for the current financial year. yielding about 8% now which is very very good.

Plus the supernormal cycle now, I forsee them to go even higher for next financial year.

Glad that manage to pick them up at around 13.xx in late 2020.
