My favourite so far is TNB, Sentral Reit and RCE. These all give around >5% div yield. Esp TNB. Last year, even at my entry price of RM10.88, my yield is 7.3%. Quite nice

Simply put, dividend shares are paid out of company profits, and high percentage of those profits going into dividends = less percentage going into further expansion and development of a company.https://simplywall.st/stocks/my/food-bevera...-berhad-klsepwr It's not an issue with, say, REITS or certain blue chip companies like banks and energy, because profits are constant but need for reinvention not so much, but with a company that's about consumables like food, reinvention and research and innovation are necessary to keep them high quality and able to keep consumer demand. The fact that majority of profits are distributed away and not used in company development means the product (i.e. source of profits) might not get enough attention and funding, which means a potential it might become stale, out of trend, or the process of manufacturing becomes outdated and less cost effective. In the long run this will cause issues with stock capital gains as company cannot sustain their business long enough. |

A good dividend stock should grow steadily in its share price and dividend yield year after year.

QUOTE(nicemamak @ Jul 5 2021, 08:10 PM) Yes I have Bursa. I consider Bursa to be a growth stock instead. We can see the participation of retail investor in the local stock market increases alot since the start of the pandemic. With great awareness and various channels promoting stock investment I see young people will move to stock investing. I foresee Gen Z to spice up the stock market in another 10 years time especially with the low yield, low interest rate and elevated property price environment. As usual this come with a disclaimer as I cannot predict the future. Haha |

My list of dividend stock
MBM - pretty consistent dividend even for FY2020. Declared 5 sen interim dividend for 2021 GeNM - expecting 15 sen for this year as well Gas Malaysia - expecting 13 sen at least based on previous years Petronas Gas Sime Darby - pretty consistent dividend. Seems to be increasing every year. Declared 8 sen interim and 1 sen special dividend for year ended 30 June 2021 Taliworks - consistently paying 1.65 sen per quarter |

Between Insurance and Agricultural/Milling/retail industry, which one is more suitable for dividend investor?
Both companies are major player in their respective industry. The major different are diversification, dividend yield, net debt, net assets, margin. |

For dividend yield it is better for you check the dividend track payout record by company rather than looking into industry Both companies are major player in their respective industry. The major different are diversification, dividend yield, net debt, net assets, margin. But by far Insurance would have stable dividends payout unless major disasters happens |

Question:
If a company maintained a positive free cash flow and retained earnings from previous years but made less profit and lower ROE for the latest FY, is that usually enough to cause a drop in dividend payout? |

One company that I really like is UP. they are just getting stronger and stronger.
They have just declared 85sen dividend, making it to RM1.15 dividend payout for the current financial year. yielding about 8% now which is very very good. Plus the supernormal cycle now, I forsee them to go even higher for next financial year. Glad that manage to pick them up at around 13.xx in late 2020. |
