LCS: Peluang akhir betulkan keadaan, sasar terima kapal LCS pertama 2025 – Menteri Pertahanan
1st LCS finish in 2025, the 6th LCS might be beyond 2030. doh.gif
it seen like TLDM will get all 6 ship, just dunno need to top up how much more? doh.gif
it really can rival the timeline of indian army getting ARJUN MBT.
the TUDM probably get a squadron of LCA 1st before TLDM all 6 LCS.

The funny thing is from what I heard, Malaysian shipyards are quite well-known in maritime circles. Given to the right yard, it could be a great opportunity.
*
yeah, the commercial ones are well-known. no doubt about it. the real culprit is the one that builds the Navy contract. last time this yard only do ship repairs, limited to naval vessels only.
building navy ship skill has been lost, i would say. so sad.
no continuity by part of the gomen to retain the skills of building naval ships on our own, be it big or small.
MMHE has turned from shipbuilding to ship repair and offshore construction. Sarawak-based yards continue to churn out tugs and barges, landing crafts and small vessel with no complexity of a naval vessels.
likewise Labuan Shipyard too turned to ship repairer.
THHE yard is building MMEA vessels tapi till now belum launch lagi.
Destini Marine can build build small vessels only, nothing the size of an OPV or corvette
to sum it up, we are f***ked!

IF in the future there are Naval ship building contract for local shipyard, it should be for some kind of join ventures between a few shipyard to build together.
*
there will be one lead contractor, and the rest will build a few modules. lead contractor will be responsible to integration and everything.
even HMS QE2 was built this way.

I think modular construction of ship sections by several yards is pretty norm nowadays. For example Damen manufactures a lot of ship sections in its Romania subsidiary yard to be assembled in the Netherlands.
*
even HMS QE was built the same way, in modules, built in separate locations

Some news site reports that's H2O says there's won't be any 'top up'
Only way that could happen is BNS continues being the providers of navy ship
We don't have much volume unfortunately to hires multiple yard
*
the name is work sharing. one yard build one section / module. lead yard do all final assembly and system integration.
banyak sikit, sama2 makan.

The Marine Corps plans to remove 27 AH-1Zs and 26 UH-1Ys from service as part of Force Design 2030, according to a statement The War Zone received from the service's top headquarters today. At least two AH-1Zs are already headed for the Boneyard at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona, as part of the inactivation of Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 367 (HMLA-367) at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Kaneohe Bay in Hawaii. That unit is expected to stand down completely by the end of the 2022 Fiscal Year, as will Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463 (HMH-463), as the Marines work to shutter all conventional helicopter units in Hawaii as part of Force Design 2030.
