Am looking at monitor of 24", ips panel, at least 144hz with vesa mount(must). Currently thought of the below any feedback on them regarding panel quality, backlight bleeding etc?

1. AOC 24G2
2. MSI Optix G241
3. Acer Nitro XV240 (Y/P)
4. Asus TUF VG249Q1R
5. Asus TUF VG249Q

1. AOC has swapped the Panda panel of the 24G2 to a BOE one (probably due to bottlenecks in the panel supply, or the vendor has raised the price of those panels), which has worse color performance than the old Panda one. On the other hand, the new BOE panel has better motion handling than the old Panda panel:

2/3/4/5 All those monitors uses the same Panda panel, with the VG249Q1R having an overclocked refresh rate of 165Hz, rather than 144Hz icon_idea.gif

Most monitors at this price range tend to have similar panel QC (or lack thereof), so pick the one that has the correct feature set and aesthetics icon_idea.gif

I'd probably recommend the VG249Q1R/VG249Q due to the fact it has ELMB for blur reduction icon_idea.gif

How to know that seller sold the Panda one other than asking the seller?

I'm using Acer Nitro XV240. Pretty good, no complain for gaming or watching movies with my PC. Or you can check out this new model from Acer. https://store.acer.com/en-my/monitors/gaming/qg241yp

Do we need wide color gamut for normal gaming/surfing/video watching?

Tempted to get 24G2 due to WCG, but price is slightly higher than others

it will be worthwhile if you appreciate full colors.

also, check out reviews for the monitors you are eyeing to know if the display has good PQ out of the box or requires calibration.

No, in many cases you may experience things like oversaturated colors due to a vast majority of content are in sRGB icon_idea.gif

If you want wide color gamut you should get one that has a sRGB emulation mode icon_idea.gif
