Why u need to increase credit limit? They follow certain formula which includes ur income and debt to determine ur credit limit. Even u try 100 times also no use. Better apply credit card from another bank

Get more salary then apply.
They always call me to upgrade buy I always say no thanks lol

I do have Citi which credit limit is more than 4 times compare my Maybank limit. But Maybank is more convenient and mostly Shoppee/Lazada accepts 0% installment.

Yes, for Maybank to increase credit limit they will still request for your updated income statements (payslip/epf statement/borang BE).

think since my salary low, got 3k limit can happy liao...
who know card come, they giv limit too high...

Already give Payslip, EA and EPF.. but things din go well.

Believe my current pay is more than enough for the credit limit I ask for.

so far no problem..not permanently increase but temporary increase.

My limit 35k.every year b4 overseas trip i will call CS to temporary increase my limit to 50k just in case something gone wrong. All done thru phone.

Hardest is public Bank alot of my banker friend salary 5 figure cannot even get a public Bank cc lol.

Maybe your other card citi CC limit too high affect their calculation of YOLO flight risk. I applied to up my limit from the starter 5k to 8k in Nov 2019 approved in one attempt. Have held this card since 2012.

I hold a citi with 9k limit hardly used at all and stanchart 5k limit regularly used in addition to the MBB.

Some bank lansi or more stringent. Work in not so famous company see you no up.
Back then applied for citi clear 2012 rejected.
Work in big company 2014 easily approved for 3x salary as CL then

Your 7k limit same as mine before. I went to maybank CC OU 2 weeks ago to increase my CL initially expected increase till 10k but 3 days after that approved x2 from original limit. I have other CC also but maybank mainly parked for emergency or instalment purposes in future.

you applied online or through counter? seems online system quite hard to get approved.

FYI , having multiple lines of credit also affects how likely they are gonna increase the CL and the magnitude of the increase , they do not just look at your income and go : " yeah lets x3 your income as your CL" .

I have a housing loan , car h/p , 5 cc credit lines , and maybank absolutely refused to increase my CL beyond my current 10k .

Current path of action for me is to pay down my loans and get bigger salary increments before trying again .

Mine. Use debit card or cash is better. Been using UOB for 12 years. Last time always owed this cc. Now no owe. All use cash. Bank called amd ask why no use the cc. I said for emergency only.

I think if you cancel your citibank card, your MBB credit limit will increase.

You have a certain 'quota' for your credit limit, because you have cards from 2 banks the quote is shared. This is what I'm told before, dunno true or not.

Previosuly I apply Islamic Maybank Card...they give me 5k, after few years I cancel and apply conventional and they give me 7k..

Not really I think. As long as you have good credit score. Mine was directly applied with them before I even got any PB mortgage. I declined/cancelled the cc they offered with the mortgage.

You may wanna try Standard Chartered CC. Their limit kinda mad at times

While you are asking for credit limit increase, ii requested for lowering down my CL from 80K to 5K.
Reason: Online fraud.

I knew some people with too much money in their account get rejected few times for CC.

SC a bit weird one. If you had multiple cards, they will give you multiple credit limit and combine them. However when you cancelled one of them, credit limit still remained.

SC is also one of the most daring banks when it comes to CC credit limit. Used their card few years ago and they even upgrade my CL automatically to 60K for no reason, even after I cancelled one of the other card which caused the inflated CL in the first place. I think they are trying very desperately to corrupt you and make you fell into debt.

When it comes to new customer public Bank very weird one , if u are old customer lain cerita.

PBB very lansi one lah... parents using my name to buy a car for mom. Salary not high enough to loan repayment. I told them my FD got more than the loan, what you scare. They straight told me, then you withdraw FD to buy. LOL... if not because my mom loves PBB to death, I would have loan with HLB.

What is the problem? I think I had around 110k or so under FD ( money that's accumulated from monthly allowance to mom for various reasons which she then fd under our joint name). I cant remember how much money was dump into downpayment but that also included a used City sold to upgrade to this crv. Of course one would take loan instead of dumping everything into the car.

PBB is just too lansi. Even diedie also need me to signup cc when I went to sign the HP. No sign also cannot. I was in a bind back then because car agent is a cousin and on the other hand, mom wanted PBB for her personal reason. Ngam2 I had a Visa Signature at that moment and I even cancelled that right after I signed that cc form so that the new cc application confirm reject.

Your FD can withdraw anytime so the bank cannot count it as security for HP loan. Don't treat the bank as clueless.

Well, I know it is withdrawable (it is also kept as emergency fund just in case)...but here's the thing...they had my records. My mom has only been depositing all the allowance into this account for over 10 years with zero withdrawals. I also had a previous loan for the City (that was sold) and pay off everything promptly. If they can use FD as security for credit card, why not HP? Besides you think the loan period is 9 years? It is only for 4 years. My payslip would be more than enough if the repayment is 6 years and above but mom wanted 4 years. Initially she wanted 3 years but cousin keep asking her for longer repayment (probably due to commission huh?). Even the previous car loan 3 years, the bank response also like 3 years only??, why not buy cash straight.

I can say I only got this kind of response from PBB. Topkek betul...
