Nothing special about the 2 pictures posted. Looks like normal P&S with harsh flash photos.

Even though there is a subject (bird's nest) but it's overcrowded with other things. Adding some more with your comment on the little dragonfly on the first picture makes you an even poor photographer by swaying the crowd away from your subject.

Shoot a subject and let the crowd know what you are shooting. Reduce clutters around the subject. Learn more on composition and DOF. Learn also on flash photography. Lastly, do give a short explanation of your picture if possible. The best is you don't need to coz the picture itself is self-explanatory.
