Currently in market for a portable notebook, mainly for excel/words/ and netflix.

The 2020 intel MBAir for 3499 base model, is it worth it if it can do what I need?

No. Shitty keyboard. Cannot repair easily.

Stay away from anything between 2015 to 2019 if u don’t want trouble.

The 2019 MBAir for 3699 base model, is it worth it?
How's the butterfly keyboard holding up?

Top up a little bit more and get the base model MBA M1, the keyboard is a lot better. Aside from the huge performance improvements, I would say the keyboard alone would make me choose the M1 instead.

The butterfly keyboard of 2019 mba shouldn't be different from the M1 variant.

I wouldn't say its not worth buying Intel MacBooks but RM3699 is really too expensive relative to the M1. Its only a difference of RM700 but you get so much more.

If the discount is more like closer to half, like RM2k+, sure why not. RM3699 is too much.

Well I need to run windows applications...
I need thin and light windows laptop with good screen and build. At 3.5 k, intel mba has no competition. I do productivity works only so the i3 should surfice? Microsoft teams, excels, outlooks, and one accounting software.

it comes back to personal preference, in terms of design, ecosystem etc.. if you own all Apple products, getting a macbook is a wise choice for sure... if not then you can consider something else if cost is a concern.

Well...mainly on windows applications, would suggest Surface though.
Because i think windows has more compatible with the apps
Mac are compatible but it's not working so smoothly compared to windows.

But for me i know what i want
i'll purchase the latest Macbook Air anyway

Just get the M1 version, the keyboard is enough to justify the purchase. Everything else is a bonus
