gogo2, is it? I believe there is a mistake since Sony clearly promotes X series as full HD LCD TV. It was also clearly stated in its website.

not to mention the importance of viewing distance (apart from the size). If you have the incorrect distance, you wont get to 'see' 1080p glory

By all means, avoid projection tv as the lamp life is way too short; abt 6-8K hours. Not forgetting that it costs over a grand to replace it.

For less than RM3.5K, there are many LCD TV that fit your budget.

that's the dynamic contrast ratio and not the correct measurement as in contrast ratio. Most of the marketing ppl knew we are easily impressed by inflated figures or numbers.

newer plasma adopts 'picture shift' system to minimise the burn-in problem. Plasma fed with Astro signal (WLT) displayed at shop from 11am-9pm, Mon - Sat. So far, no visible burn-in.

If talking about PQ (Not considering the price of the unit), it is undeniable that Pioneer Kuro trumps it all.

IMHO, not all Sharp LCD TVs are the best and that goes the same for almost every single brands. However, it all boils down to individual preference. Some ppl prefers rich colour, some like it to be natural.

Not surprising that Pioneer is making loss.

Although it has one of the best (if not the best) PQ in flat panel display market, the price is major turn-off point.

Hope that by sourcing from the other 2 giants, it could drive the price down without compromising its PQ.

Yes, Optoma is gaining popularity esp in US. (Not trying to promote my sale thread). As you can see in the avsforum itself.

yes, normally ppl buy it at that kind of staggering price as a statement of their wealth (reads : show off).

Btw, Optoma also known as Themescene in UK, whereby it is also a well-known brand that competes head-on with Infocus (a.k.a. Screenplay)
