In relation to Covid vaccines, TB is also an infectious disease.

You do know that if you have/had TB your long term (eg, study, work, residency) visa will be denied in many of the countries with low-prevalence of TB (such as New Zealand, UK, Australia, Canada) right?... This is why we submit a chest X-Ray when applying for visa to these countries... Just because Malaysia doesn't take TB seriously anymore (we stopped re-vaccinating 12 year olds in 2002) it doesn't mean that the rest of the world don't take TB seriously...

There are about 10 million cases per year and about 1.5 million deaths per year since 2000 to 2017 (17 years data).

According to this Malaysian doctor in Health Ministry, there are 6 deaths everyday due to TB in Malaysia.

TB vaccine has already been developed, Bacillus Calmette–Guérin (BCG).

Many countries in the world do not administer the BCG vaccine.

TB kills roughly 15% of humans infected with TB every year.
Covid kills roughly 0.37% of humans infected by Covid (so far).

Governments mulling travel bans and barring non Covid19 vaccinated people from entering business premises.
Governments never had a travel ban against non TB vaccinated people.

My 1 question:
WHY?

Because there are people who chose to sensationalize everything instead supporting with data tongue.gif

I don't remember going for a chest x-ray when applying visa when I travelled to Australia or Canada?

For Australia, I just filled up form and that's it. Received some paper printed and stapler in passport.

For Canada, I have to submit all my employment details, letter from employer, itinerary, current & previous passport, my history, my commitments in Malaysia and I have to write a letter explaining why I can't leave Malaysia and will go back to Malaysia after my stay in Canada.

This report explains why they decided to stop the booster shots
https://www.moh.gov.my/index.php/database_s...ownload/347/147

TLDR: it costs too much, the booster only raises the immunity by a small amount, it causes scarring (an easy way to know how many times you had your BCG shot is to see your left shoulder and count the number of scars.. most people born after 1990 should have at most 1)

Foreigners coming here to work will get visa revoked if any trace of TB scars on xrays. This happened to a relatives maid last year

Ah I checked with my friend that has a PR in Canada, you're right. They request for an X-ray scan result among a lot of other stuff.

Really necessary? Think its socio-responsibility and also to protect your family too.

No problem if you don't want to get vaccinated and no problem if you are worry about side effects, but Covid wont go away. If you're smart enough to be avoid getting infected, no problem at all.

Malaysia already using common vaccines available in the market and other countries launched their vaccination programme months before Malaysia even had the vaccines. Not sure what's the fear and concern here.

What’s the fear and concern here?
Fear is spread to sway people from registering to get vaccines for themselves faster in the queue, my guess. Since the rollout in Bolehland is painfully slow.

yes vaccine (ideally pfizer) is necessary

this is reality on the ground

their hospitals are swamped. and some people can't even get the oxygen tanks filled for those who need it.

this is basically the outcome when covid is not taken seriously and you don't have a vaccine  sad.gif

At this rate we’re getting vaccinated, it could very well happen here too (touchwood). Let’s hope for the best

you think so? I genuinely think a lot of still undecided because of the side effects (i.e. kiasi) and I totally can understand that.

Just a speculation, of course I’m not saying everyone thinks so. I personally know a lot of boomers who are on the fence (due to the side effects etc.) and they’re particularly vulnerable to such conspiracy. The stupidest thing is to “observe how it goes with others 1st” as if Bolehland is the only place on earth.

If only they fully understand the dangers of covid, any form of extra protection is a good bet. People refuse to wear masks, refuse social distancing and now vaccines. If all people were smarter at the 1st place, covid wouldn’t even have a chance to last this long.

On the other side of the spectrum there are many people desperate for the vaccines, for various reasons. The rollout is slow and the 4th wave will be inevitable.

If you delay vaccination because of blood clot fears and then you get sick, then this happens:

The article got so many of the word "MAY" and 0.001% chances is also MAY. I did hear blood clot by COVID-19 to be around 16% but I haven't see where is the numbers from.
