So far im using s21 Plus everything is good. No overheating issue.

Using camera, social media, a liitle bit gaming (PES Mobile only).

But daily use, really enjoy using it.

You are right when you say newer gen processor produces higher peak performance, hence higher heat produced. However, isn't it the chip manufacturers duty to make sure their latest chip should run at an acceptable temperature while producing great performance?

Imagine proton launch their X90 next year with 200hp and they say look, this car performance is great but sadly the car will overheat. So we will give you this 200hp engine but you are not supposed to utilise its maximum performance. Here, we have another sport models that also have 200hp and you should buy this instead.

See the point? If you happily advertise 200hp performance, then make sure you offer a pleasurable 200hp performance experience, as simple as that. Manufacturers can't just happily promise great peak performance and ignore serious overheating issue and come out and say, no you are not supposed to utilise all the processing power of the chip because that will cause overheating. This is a serious problem they should have solved before launch, in fact if they can't then they should throttle the performance by default, not ignoring it just so they can win in a benchmark fight.

If you say battery drain, I get that. Higher performance = higher drain so no complaint. Heck oneplus 9 pro sucks battery like no tomorrow and I'm not complaining. Similarly, higher performance = higher heat, no issue but the heat needs to be managed better, else dun promise us so much power. Back to the point again, if your chip cant provide a comfortable user experience while performing at the maximum performance you promised, then there is definitely a problem here.

All 3 of this year's flagship, Samsung oppo and oneplus 9 pro suffers from overheating issues. S21 plus overheat even taking pictures lol, not to mention HD videos. Once I had video call with my sister I have to put the phone away because it was frying my hand.

Rog 5 is a phone for the enthusiast. Go for it if you are a heavy mobile gamer and doesn't care too much about camera or looks (debatable). I have used all the other 3 phones and all 3 suffers different levels of heating issues for gaming.

If S21 ultra is too pricey and you are still more comfortable with Samsung, then just go for the S21 plus. You won't lose any practical function other than some bragging rights and creepy zooming.

Oppo find X3 pro and oneplus 9 pro are brothers. They are basically the same phone with oppo having slightly better camera ( to me), warranty support (oppo > 1+ msia) and op 9 pro better in haptics, heat management and third party accessories availability. Take the find x3 pro for piece of mind in warranty, they are offering two year warranty if u know where to find.

Ignore the current waves of negative remarks on the oneplus 9 pro. It is currently one of phone with the best value proposition, and an all rounder without any real compromises. Only weakness being oneplus Malaysia extremely poor after sales service.

If budget is a concern, both the oneplus 8pro and oppo find x2 pro are still very capable flagships at very attractive price point. At least they don't overheat!

I called customer service on day 2 I got the device this was his instructions as well.
I did the reset network settings, then from the two SSID I have at home, I only connect to one. But when I am gaming, the Wi-Fi would just disconnect, and then I realized that is why it was kept switching between 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz intermittently before the reset.
After that I had to do a factory reset because this was the last straw, but problem was not solved, it is still disconnecting.
I notice the disconnection happens more frequently when the device is hot.

I'm connected to only 2.4GHz and still face disconnection intermittently.
For benefit of doubts perhaps multiple devices on this SSID causes the problem.
I forget the 2.4GHz network and then connected to 5Ghz network.
The disconnection was even worse.
I really observed this happens especially when the device is running hot.
I'm now back to using my old OP 5, also on the same network.
