Hello sifu, want to ask. I’m looking for a projector that:
- have decent sound output (or should I just buy an external speaker)
- is not too blur when watching during the day
- (preferably) have built in android, because place to use doesn't always have Wi-Fi
- to be used for family watching movies at kampung, mostly for kids
- is under RM1K budget

Would it be a regrettable purchase if I buy something cheap? Preferably I would like the item to lasts long, and if broken down is easy to repair.

Do you have anything that you could recommend as well?

-edited my initial post after reading back all the post from page 1-

Unless you have more budget, else projector below RM1K can't perform well during the day. Below 60" is okay. But at this size, better get a TV.

Was about to edit again but you already replied. Actually screen size would be lesser than 60" during the day, night time can be larger (around 75" is enough I think?). The last model that I'm looking at is wewatch v50 pro, but I don't think that one have built in netflix (or android).

if need Netflix, get a TV stick + projector. Projectors below RM1K can't support 1080P Netflix. 480P only.

I pulled the trigger for Zeemr D1 Pro, and I was amazed by the sound. Interface wise I don't really like but as long can work it's fine.

Question: Are there different qualities for screen mats? There are some shops claiming their screen mat will provide a better color distribution or something2. Or all screen mats the same?

Yes. Little bit. No.

Does if it support widevine L1 for FHD Netflix/prime etc streaming?

For China models, you can forget about playing Netflix in Full HD even it has DRM L1.

There will be a global version as well for this?

No idea. But this model brightness is way too low in 2024. Not worth the price too.

Need your opinion on this. Cheap projector Vs cheap TV

I want a TV to put at rental place for tenant. Let's say cheapest TV 55 in is around 1.5k. How about a Wanbo or similar projector like T2 Max? Yes I know one is 4K one is 1080p let's gloss over that first.

TV always wins projector at the same screen size and price.

Hi! wanna get some advice. Recently had a baby and most of the time I stay inside the bedroom especially at night. Most of the night i wish i can continue watching drama and play some nintendo switch game but i only have 1 tv which is at living room. looking at budget projector which can play well with nintendo switch / tvbox.

Budget around RM500 +/-.

For now I'm seeing Lenovo Xiaoxin 100s and Xiaomi Xming Q3Neo. [I can get from PRC online platform and deliver here because it's way cheaper than retailer in M'sia (if have)]
Have TS tried this model? or have any other suggestion?

Thanks in advance.

Nope. Didn't try them. Please refer to my top projector chart...

What do you think about wanbo mozart 1 or wanbo x5 in that budget range?

Planning for entertainment use in my bedroom. to use for things like youtube, netflix, or even plug in hdmi to my pc for gaming
*
Wanbo X5 + TV stick is the best combo. Do get the latest beta firmware for gaming.

another budget one but spec seems high, it says android and not android TV so i suspect its not netflix certified
This one surely is not. Even it is official Android / Google TV, Netflix might not be certified as well. doh.gif
