I’m looking to get a 360’ sound speaker. Planning to put on my living room table. Bookshelf speaker seems to single direction sound.
Do you have any good suggestion for bookshelf speaker? I’m open to explore. My primary usage is to connect Bluetooth from my nest mini to play music and occasionally play some sound from my tv if I’m watching movie but I don’t expect too much on this.
Budget is around 1k-1.3k.
In fact if I can get one with Spotify connect and google assistant is even better, but the very least I am hoping to get one with decent sound quality because I can still connect from nest mini if it doesn’t equipped with these. (I’m not exactly a bass person who play much boom boom music - my standard of high quality is not audiophile level)
I’m actually looking to get apple homepod earlier this year but then the stock is low and then subsequently they decided to discontinue it so I’m looking for alternative.
HK Soundsticks also not 360' speaker. So you're left with the Aura from the initial choices. Btw I had the Onyx 6 previously, and sound quality feels lacking to me. It sounds plenty loud for its size, but the booming bass just overwhelms everything else.
Bookshelf may be directional, but you dont necessarily need to be in the sweet spot for it to sound good. Nowadays a lot of multimedia bookshelf speakers have bluetooth. Audioengine A5+ gets great reviews, so does Edifier, Swans Hivi, Ruark, to name a few. Best if you get the chance to try. Flash Gadgets have some Ruark and Bose models, and Harvey Norman should have some Edifiers on display.
