Hi. I’m looking to get a Bluetooth/WiFi speaker to play some jazz music in my studio (few hundred sqft only).

I am looking at HK Soundsticks 4 and Aura Studio 3 but couldn’t find much comparison online. Saw some Reddit post talking about HK producing low quality speaker.

I tested out Sonos one and Aura studio 3 earlier in the mall but personally I felt like aura studio 3 sounds better. Unfortunately I don’t have any chance to test for soundsticks 4.

Does anyone have any opinion/review on these product?

My priority of the speaker is not on loudness nor explosive sound - prefer clarify and soothing sound as I will be playing more jazzy, lo-fi and classical music.

Have u try auditioning Harman Kardon Go + Play? Previously, I've compared between Sound Stick vs. Aura vs Go + Play... Go + Play wins hand down. The price might fetch a heftier compared with the two but good clarity and bass are wut u get. Aura and Soundstick sound signature almost the same but lack the bass Go + Play has. Go + Play also able to fill up your room without much of effor. I reckon u to audition and try it out.

Thanks for the recommendation. Haven’t saw this speaker anywhere before. Will do some research on this.

Do you know where can I try out Go + play?

U can always search around at Switch Store or Urban Republic near ur place. It will be worth to audition this speaker as it somehow a hidden gem that not much of people knows (or care of) aside Aura and Soundstick. But stock might be limited as this is an old model yet, you can always opted for its younger sibling, Onyx series if the stock exhausted. The sound signature almost identical but lack of bass due to its smaller size and also price.

I’m looking to get a 360’ sound speaker. Planning to put on my living room table. Bookshelf speaker seems to single direction sound.

Do you have any good suggestion for bookshelf speaker? I’m open to explore. My primary usage is to connect Bluetooth from my nest mini to play music and occasionally play some sound from my tv if I’m watching movie but I don’t expect too much on this.

Budget is around 1k-1.3k.

In fact if I can get one with Spotify connect and google assistant is even better, but the very least I am hoping to get one with decent sound quality because I can still connect from nest mini if it doesn’t equipped with these. (I’m not exactly a bass person who play much boom boom music - my standard of high quality is not audiophile level)

I’m actually looking to get apple homepod earlier this year but then the stock is low and then subsequently they decided to discontinue it so I’m looking for alternative.

HK Soundsticks also not 360' speaker. So you're left with the Aura from the initial choices. Btw I had the Onyx 6 previously, and sound quality feels lacking to me. It sounds plenty loud for its size, but the booming bass just overwhelms everything else.

Bookshelf may be directional, but you dont necessarily need to be in the sweet spot for it to sound good. Nowadays a lot of multimedia bookshelf speakers have bluetooth. Audioengine A5+ gets great reviews, so does Edifier, Swans Hivi, Ruark, to name a few. Best if you get the chance to try. Flash Gadgets have some Ruark and Bose models, and Harvey Norman should have some Edifiers on display.
