I just bought a macbook and was very happy with my purchase.

I just noticed that if i go to go>network and click network, the network pane will open for a sec and it disappears. After that clicking network several times nothing happens.

Why is this happening?

Try to restart the MacBook. Or reformat the Mac OS X. Btw, are you connected to any network?
