The 2021 Yamaha Y16ZR is now in Malaysia, priced at RM10,888, excluding road tax, insurance and registration. To be sold in Malaysia alongside the Yamaha Y15ZR (RM8,168), the Y16ZR is an upgrade over the Y15ZR, carrying the engine from the Yamaha YZF-R15 and the Yamaha MT-15.

Is it worth for RM2,720 more to upgrade from Y15ZR to Y16ZR?

RM30 vs RM2 for road tax.
5.4L vs 4.2L fuel tank.
155cc vva & slipper clutch vs 150cc engine.

May be they have studied our market carefully... top speed over 150 km/h, but majority people in the market don't value ABS much

True

Majority of the riders in this country not concern about safety.

Mostly concern about top speed.

The real threat to ADV150 is the NVX v2 that is expected to be launched soon. Those who want to ride twist n go auto scooters will not bother about manual clutch moped.

Y16 might ruffle some Sym VF3i 185 LE/Pro feathers though.

As someone who got disk lock and crash multiple time.
I do care for this feature. In fact all of my co workers want abs on this type of bike.

But sadly if government dont imposed it as mandatory. Then noting can be done

Correct. Except for Sym 185 all other kapchais doesn't have ABS. Scooter like NVX or ADV 150 come with front ABS.

Having a more powerful engine also come with a lot more responsibility. This is not like the lower end lagenda or mid range LC that price lower so they do not have ABS. Selling at over 10k is not a problem, but the problem is not having ABS at such price range for a kapcai.

I was referring to those who keen on the latest and greatest. ADV150 was first of its kind - adventure scooter and not for small money. It is obvious that ADV150 is with automatic gearing while the Y16ZR is a manual clutch moped.

It's king of king of king of kapcai - so is most expensive.
R15 and MT15 is near the lowest end of superbike, naked bike - so is the cheapest.

overpriced because there is no proper basket at the moment. Even if it has, the space is too small.

I would rather get MT15 than this one.

Yes, but still, very shallow. That will defeat the purpose of having moped bike.

I just bought purple color version of Yamaha Y16ZR V2. Im thinking of changing my front and rear tyres since stock tyre not that grip, especially during raining I can feels its slippering.I planned to purchase Corsa Sport Rain for both of my tyres. But the problem is can I use size 80/90/R17 (front) and 110/70/R17 or 130/70/R17 for (rear) tyres. inside manual its only recommended 120/70/R17.

how does it slippery? did you pijak rear brake or ride over painted line on the road?
big tyre can slip quite easily in wet

rear rim 120/70 stock can consider 110/70 or 130/80
