lol~ , either find used condition monitor, or refurbish monitor (happened some of the Dell Ultrasharp monitor)
Can find some stock clearance old model monitor (e.g. Benq SW240) if don't mind without HDR feature tongue.gif

I recently bought the ViewSonic VX3276-2K-MHD-2 from Viewnet online store.

A 32" QHD WLED IPS monitor for only RM999 after Shopee discount.

It has HDR10 support with Displayport upgraded from 1.2 to 1.4 from the previous version VX3276-2K-MHD.

It has the required minimum 10-bit display (actually 8-bit + FRC)

It came with a HDMI cable which cannot support 10-bit color and HDR10.

I ordered a Displayport 1.4 cable separately and waiting for it to arrive.

But I must say the non-HDR display mode on HDMI is already stunning.

Yeah, I don't do content creation, so I don't need an expensive color-accurate, true 10-bit professional display like the Asus ProArt series.

My primary use is for web browsing and watching videos. No gaming. tongue.gif

If your main reason is HDR.

Minimum requirement: HDR 600 (600cd/m2)

Recommended: HDR 1000 (1,000cd/m2) local dimming Mini-LED VA or HDR 400 True Black OLED / any OLED.

Anything said HDR ready is crap, it will look totally washed out. Anything with HDR 400 is also not good, and washed out in most HDR scenes, this included movies, games and desktop set as HDR.

They is no cheap HDR monitor yet, HDR is expensive things now. Those cheap one is very bad and consider a fake HDR where they just make it support without a suppose hardware.

Check below to understand more on HDR

This monitor only 250 cd/m² brightness which is way too low for HDR. Minimum need brightness 400 cd/m² which is already not good and not recommended.

It is not even officially mentioned support.

This budget monitor has a peak brightness of 409 nits, just the bare minimum required for HDR10.

The HDR viewing experience is elevated to another level with almost blinding brightness and contrast. Colors are really vibrant.

Your video player needs to support HDR playback.

I installed Media Player Classic - Home Cinema player from K-Lite Codec Pack.

There is a choice of MPC Video Renderer or madVR, both of which support HDR playback.

It processes the HDR metadata (static or dynamic) present in the video file.

I hope this monitor can last me a long time. tongue.gif

For HDR playback in Youtube however, we have to set the flag in your web browser (in my case BRAVE) to FORCE COLOR PROFILE to "scRGB with HDR"

The black level is quite good for an IPS panel.

Now I can watch Youtube streaming videos in HDR if the file is encoded accordingly. tongue.gif
