Regional funds have been getting stronger with PCSF in the lead in terms of percentage. Not to mention that MYR is getting weaker overall. Cancels out the bearish KLSE effect.

My agent didn't even know that switching can be done via telemutual. I wanted to switch to bond in late July, but he told me to wait till he take leave in 2nd week of August to go UT office to switch. Guess what, that folly cost me 9% paper loss.

QUOTE(leekk8 @ Oct 11 2007, 11:23 AM) ...the equity funds price are all low, he should advice you to wait for more a while then only switch. Well. The silver lining is, I decided to switch to PCSF instead. So the massive rebound help to regain back the loss. Might not be so lucky the next time around though. |

Open a bond or money market account. 0.25% will be deducted initially.
When you switch into equity, normal (6.5%) charges apply. |

QUOTE(bengang13 @ Oct 24 2007, 04:57 PM) do we get charged 6.5% for the switch(from bond to equity)? i thought it is considered loaded therefore no charges when you do the switch...?? Well. When i open new bond/mm account... the units are considered low-loaded units mar. So will have 6.5% charge when i switch into equity. |

Bonds always never do much. I put RM2k into PISBF in early August. After 2 months or so, i earned RM5-7.

I switched out from PCSF last Wednesday. Is it ok to switch back in now? Won't be penalized right?

If you haven't switch out today, you'll need to suffer tomorrow's and thursday's HSI loss before you can make a move after the closing of thursday 's session

Apply for telemutual (phone). Its free and your agent only need you to sign a form. Topup can be done in any public bank branches. I guess if you never had telemutual it means your money is currently sinking with the current crash

30% of PCSF consists of taiwan index, which today dropped 2.29% |

I've always known that this rally is a short-lived one. Which is why when PCSF finally eased to 0.2201 i took the decision to switch out to money market. PCSF nav today is 0.2060. A drop of 6.4% which i avoided...

Guys,
PMMF is essentially FD la. Public mutual invest into FD of various banks and give you annual rate of 3.1%. It might be a ripoff but compared to what went on in the last 5 months it's a way of pulling out of stocks without pulling out of PM |

And also lower than 3.3% p.a. that you'll get for 1 month FD.
At least it's calculated daily and u can move it out anytime you want. |

In a way. I feel sad knowing that most agents aren't trained properly to sell their client and provide them with the proper info.
There are two funds at least within the Public Series that WILL NOT DEPRECIATE. PMMF and PIMMF. Those are FD based and they'll be your lifesaver at times like this. This post has been edited by Medufsaid: Oct 22 2008, 11:44 PM |
