i did google around but find little information about my spec:
my other spec are:
sandy bridge 2600
winfast gtx 460
1X 4G kingston ddr3 1333 ram
wireless longitech keyboard and mouse
liteon dvd rom
clean formated 60G hd

I changed bios setting, boot dvdrom 1st, sata raid to ahci. 1 tried the iboot legacy+multibeast method but i failed. iboot legacy worked perfectly by not the sl retail dvd (original). it failed to installed and i got a kernal panic instead.

pic attached show kernal panic message.

please help me on this. i already tried few day without sleep

@timeline, are you trying to install on a specific desktop or your own build? What brand/model is your motherboard?
*
sorry, my spec is:
intel DP67BGB3
sandy bridge 2600
winfast gtx 460
1X 4G kingston ddr3 1333 ram
wireless longitech keyboard and mouse
liteon dvd rom
clean formated 60G hd

sure i did swap dvd and hit F5 to refresh, and hit Enter.

only do that can have a apple screen like picture i showed.

i even try
PCIRootUID -x, safety boot. still the same.
I suspect bios setting is wrong. since so little hackintosh owner using intel mobo I got no imformation about this board bios correct setting.

will try usb install this weekend....wish me luck

@timeline, have you tried the Andy method? His AndyCD boot can be found here:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=252849

Try to disable Turbo, EIST in your BIOS.

And according to one posting in tonymacx86, you may need to disable the 2 core in your bios as can be found in this discussion:

andy's bootloader ROCK!
the whole smooth installation took me less than an hour, updated to 10.6.7 combo, installed boot packages from andy's boot cd.

i didn't even change any bios setting(my mobo by default sata is set to achi, boot cd rom 1st),
my 2X4g ram is there all the time without causing any trouble.

now is another phase of trouble shooting:
sleep: get kp while put machine to sleep.
resolution(winfast gtx 460): can't get full resolution, tried tony nvidia 2.0, or re-write com.aaple.boot.plist from:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

<plist version="1.0">

<dict>

<key>Kernel</key>

<string>mach_kernel</string>

<key>Kernel Flags</key>

<string></string>

<key>Timeout</key>

<string>5</string>

</dict>

</plist>

to:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

<plist version="1.0">

<dict>

<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>

<string>Yes</string>

</dict>

</plist>

but didn't work.....

tried multibeast, not working as well.
(btw, in multibeast, while some of the features stated "skip", is that mean no need to install at all?)

sound:
tried multibeast, not working

usb wireless adapter:
i've DWA 110, installedl 10.6 sl driver from ralinktech, also as insanelymac's geek suggested i install USB 2.0 driver from http://www.sustworks.com/site/news_usb_ethernet.html.
still the adapter not even show up in sl, after i reboot many time and plug the stick in and out.

i guess what i have to do now is read tons of those post-installation articles.
but, thanks again, wiraone, U R the MAN!!!

@timeline, good to know you've it working. Suggested if you've extra space in your HD, create another backup partition so you don't need to reinstall everytime you messed up your setting. Use Carbon Copy Cloner and it will save a lot of your time reinstalling the OS when something goes wrong.

On the graphics card, have you install the latest chimera from multibeast? What I did on my daughter setup (her pc has gts430), was to run the nvidia updater and then install the latest chimera and that all need to get it run on its native resolution.

On the DLink USB, I didn't do much either to get it working, it seems just working. Check if you've it connected on USB3 port though, I've had a headache trying to figure out what wrong with my initial setup just to find out that I've my USB on USB3 ports which not natively supported by SL.

I agreed with your opinion, it seems that tonymac is much more newbie friendly. Don't really care if he copied it from someone else, but he makes everything easy for newbie like me before when trying to get things working.

fighting for a week as a noob to get my graphic card working right!
i tried all kind of things, any methods anyone can find in tonymac, insanely mac, osx86...all forum.

my finding for my gtx 460:
andybootcd is unfriendly to nvidia graphic card.
but i can't use any other but andybootcd(in fact i think andycd is a amazing stuff, boot with 8g ram and without tweaking bios),
so here is what i did:
boot with andybootcd,
install 10.6.3 retailer cd
install 10.6.7 combo update
DON'T use andy's package but follow Robo2k guide(sucess:intel dh67gd/non-k i7 2600/hd5850) in tonymac. of cause install NON of those ati kext.

remove NVenabler
install tony nvidia 2.0
set com.apple.boot.plist to
graphicsenabler=yes
pciroot=1
1920x1280x32

set device id to 0e22(for gtx 460) in applegraphicsmanegement.kext, also in the same kext set macbookpro 4,1 and 5,1 interval from 250 to 0.

don't ask my any theory and why, i can't answer any of them.

and it WORKS!!!!!! with full hd resolution and qe/ci enable(tested with dashboard and frontrow)!!!
rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

now....sound....multibeast HDA enabler, applehda rollback, alc8xxhna voodoohda all don't work for me.
check from system profiler: audio showing devide alc892
but in system preference: sound showing no input and output device.
rclxub.gif rclxub.gif wub.gif wub.gif mad.gif mad.gif
guess need another weekend for this...

tried sleepenabler but freaking me out, got kp while loading os, failed to load with -s or -x.
have to login windows7 with macdrive and delete the sleepenebler.kext.

haven't mention dwa110. is like pain in the ass without access online while tweaking thing, need to restart and swap to window7 for internet. so inconviniece. but i understand the hope to get my dwa 110 working in sl is slim. those geek in xos forum get their hand on diy airport wireless card. they are totally insane.

dumpt question, why are there have 2 com.apple.boot.plist?
(1 in extra folder and another one in library/preference/system configuration, i know the contents are different)

Well, I think I've given up on my Hackintosh -- will be upgrading my computer to an AMD (the offer was too good to refuse) -- AM3 955 Phenom II 3.2 ghz black edition; and also a NVIDIA GTX 560 TI, both which have poor support on Mac OS X.

I'll have to stick with Mac OS on my MB Air; unless of course one of you can point me to the right direction running Mac OS X on an AMD.

Fuiyoh. I maybe can start to join this discussion now. Finally I get to install 10.6.3 on my desktop!

Actually the initial plan is to install on my HP Compaq nc6400 but I don't know why, I get a kernel panic everytime I start up the comp and googling doesn't really have the solution orz.

Then I tried messing around by installing the iAtkos s3 v2 on any desktop I can find and finally I can actually install on one perfectly! Apparently this desktop is suitable for iAtkos. the HP DC7600. Fuh feels good mang.

Tomorrow gonna mess around with it XD
*
why 10.6.3 only?

10.6.7 combo update ler bro?

Added on June 20, 2011, 2:13 ammy hackintosh update:
spec:
i7 2600
intel dp67bgb3 mobo
winfast gtx 460 1g
2x4g 1333ram
sl retail 10.0.3

as previous post stated gfx carc working oredi.
for audio i spent lot of time experimented with all those kext available, and voila, it work like this:
1st install ALC892 from multibeast.
2nd install alc8xxhda and applehda rollback from multibeast
3rd install ALC892Enabler Beta from tonymac
run kext uti and repairpermissions
restart
4th install voodoo2.7.2
....and got DOUBLE PANIC
this is the beauty of it. be calm,
restart with -x, run kext uti and repairpermission again.
reboot.

you know what? now i have my sound woking perfectly!!

no luck for wireless though.
try all kind of methods for my dwa 110 untill i gave up.
went lowyat bought asus n10 from czone.
czone is the ONE and ONLY place in lowyat that know hackintosh,
talk to keen(very nice and honest person, rare in lowyat).
asus n10 work for every hackintoshs that they built, but not for me.
i went back to changed asus n13 since from the box it say 10.6 is supported.this is a big lie(the box), the item doen't come with 10.6 dirver, only 10.5!! so, not work for me.

now for wireless my only choose is diy airport.
http://x86wifi.blogspot.com/2010/04/how-to...rport-card.html

well, searching whole lowyat can't find a pci-e adapter.
and only one shop have used apple bcm94322mc, asking rm150....
so, i decided to buy online....

btw, anyone here interested in asus n13, new one wor, selling it cheap:
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f...0#entry43188121

tonite will install fcp, try my hackintosh with hd footages.

hi timelime. what graphic card you use for dual monitor?
currently im using nVDIA 8400GS and have DVI, VGA and HDMI port. im success using VGA & DVI for dual monitor, thinking of buying new lcd with DVI and searching for a best Graphic card. smile.gif
*
i'm using winfast gtx 460, i really not recommend nvidia gfxcard because it need lots of tweaking and setting. please do consider ati gfxcard. checked on insanely mac or tonymac, if i'm right hd6870 is fully supported.
