will try that method when im free... 10.5.4 looks fine for me at the moment..

any extra performance on 10.5.5 ?

I finally satisfied my installation with takes more than 3 months trial and error.

Distro: iAKTOS v5i 10.5.5 
Intel DG33BU - Audio / USB work 
nVidia 8600GTS - QE/CI both work 
DWL-G122 Version C1 Wireless USB Adapter - replug is needed

Just had to set my ip manually, then bingo

yeah thats the few versions i see throughout the web...mobo wise, gigabyte or asus are mostly recommmended...but i personally opt for asus (dont know why )...maybe a P5x one...as for the graphics, i have read that 7xxx/8xxx are more compatible compared to 9xxx, is that true

wanna ask..is it necessary to have the partition to be primary? currently i only have my  c partition is primary where my vista is installed..tried to instal iatkos i5 into my other partition which is logical extended..but cannot boot from it..

Me got suckered into buying a Dell Mini 9 at Maxis today might as well try to make one hackintosh with it. Will post some pix and info on install when I get the unit

What I found out from Dell US site is that the cheapest for the Dell Mini 9" which is going for around US350, is the basic Linux version that only comes with 1GB & 4GBSSD. No bluebooth, no cam and WWan(3G). Maxis' package comes with 'almost' full spec ( 1GB, 8gb SSD, bluetooth, wwan & 0.3 cam), so it totals up to about USD500. Right now Maxis is offering RM89x24 for Chinese New Year promo. RM240 savings    so I took the deal.

I asked Maxis if Dell will do upgrades. They only said upgrading the ram is possible. For the SSD, looks like I have to go to my regular shop at Low Yat or buy from e-shop. I feel like getting the 32GB leh. Sure pokai wan and have to visit mamak shop often 

yo guys, let say im using 10.5.2 & ive update successfully to 10.5.3. the next i wanna do was update to 10.5.4. as known, there is delta(88mb) & combo(500mb plus) in size. my question:

1. if i choose the delta, do i have to use the update method from 10.5.2 to 10.5.3(run script by netkas) of just single click?
2. update with 10.5.4 combo MUST use the 10.5.2 to 10.5.3(run script by netkas) method, should it?
3. if i manage to update with delta package, do i still need to follow the old method(run script by netkas) when i wanna apply combo?

wanna ask..why timing in my vista and mac os x is not same..ill have a problem when rebooting my vista..the time will be different..both are using the same gmt..kuala lumpur..

in MAC... go system preferences --> date& time --> uncheck set date& time auto  then time zone select LONDON after adjust the time ...thats all

No one wants to special order for me the 32gb mini ssd at Low Yat    So I will have to order it myself. Keeping my finger's crossed if it arrives 

Meantime, I got OSX 10.5.5 running successfully on the Dell Mini 9 off an external hd. Wah beh tahan liao.  Here's what I manage to get working and not:

Intel GMA950 - working
Bluetooth - working
Wireless - working
LAN Network - working
Maxis Broadband(WWAN) - working
WebCam built-in - working
SD Reader - haven't installed drivers yet. Need to test it out
GPS - haven't test out the hack yet. Need to experiment. (GPS works on Windows XP)
Sleep - not working

90% full blown hackintosh

guys, am downloaded ideneb 10.5.5. but having trouble when the disk verification. download using freedownload manager and burn at 4X speed. have anybody face the same issue.

for AMD, which one is the best distro?

i'm currently on kalyway 10.5.2 and have been trying to install the retail OSX dvd via boot 132 method.
found that i have to build my own boot132 disc but i couldn't get Slimbuild to work properly. is there a proper guide on the net where i can follow?
and is anyone out there with the Gigabyte G31M- S2L kexts? or even a prebuilt G31M boot disc iso?
i managed to restore the retail DVD onto an external HDD and ran Chemeleon to install the bootloader onto the external HDD. It booted went into Darwin and as that thing spins around, the PC reboots. what am i doing wrong?

Actually i've been a little ambitious. i thought i try and use the Stickpin USB Boot 132 method once i've built the iso using Slimbuild. my confusion is actually regarding the outputted files.

i tried the [9]-step Stickpin USB Boot132 method with the generic.iso (40mb) as well. i followed the steps to the dot but it pops up with an error saying:
SYSLINUX 3.63
Could not find kernal image: linux
Boot:

im on an intel core 2 duo E7200 2.53Ghz. can't i use the vanilla kernel from the retail dvd itself?

im still rather new in all this.
my understanding is to:
1. get boot 132 CD( or USB or restored retail dvd in an external hdd with cameleon installed) working.
2. swap out the Boot132 disc and boot the OSX Retail DVD
3. run through and complete the OSX installation
4. run cameleon to install bootloader + kext into efi partition.

are my assumptions wrong?

im thinking getting msi wind as i find its the best lappie around for hacintoshes. all the hardware working out the box. no need to do extra effort what say u guys?
