Im not sure...i guess it does support though ive got a dell nb running iatkos4i at 10.5.5. So i guess it does support, have u tried kext in the efi partition method? that cld be the safest bet....all modified kext are in the partition and the os x parition remains vanilla.

QUOTE(pavitran @ Dec 20 2008, 03:58 PM) will try that method when im free... 10.5.4 looks fine for me at the moment.. Performance wise i dont think there is any difference, most updates are for security issues, but if u have an extra partition to play ard with u shld try upgrading to 10.5.5any extra performance on 10.5.5 ? QUOTE(nghoongen @ Dec 23 2008, 01:44 PM) Just wanna ask can my laptop install/handle OSX 10.5 ??? Guys, check the HCL in osx86project, u`ll find all yr answers there but it looks like yr notebooks might support os x, u can try a few distro`s like kalyway or the latest iatkos5i.I got a Benq S73G laptop. Is it easy to install Mac OS Leopard? (Anyone with S73G tried installing yet?) Good luck QUOTE(yaofong @ Dec 23 2008, 04:16 PM) yeah, but i think its over priced. Not by our local distro but by EFI-X guys themselves, imagine getting efix at rm700 and OS X Retail for RM450-550, it will cost extra rm1100 this is quite a price to pay. After all EFI-X operates on a standard series of hardwares , if u browse enough at osx86project i think u`ll find the answers u need to run a retail leopard without needing to invest in EFI-X.cheers just my 2 cents worth. |

QUOTE(pangping1510 @ Jan 16 2009, 01:30 AM) yeah thats the few versions i see throughout the web...mobo wise, gigabyte or asus are mostly recommmended...but i personally opt for asus (dont know why Yeah you wont go wrong with either gigabyte or asus. Any p35 or p45 chipset will do. You can either choose the common distros (kalyway,iatkos5i,ipc or ideneb) iPC has the latest update verison 10.5.6 or buy a retail leopard and install via boot 132 in EFI partition or with chameleon. The retail leopard works best because u get an unmodified version of Leopard on yr hack and you could update directly from apple website. As for the graphics card yeah 7xxx/8xxx series works best, but i think the 9800gt and 9800gtx+ will work fine with EFI strings. Shoudlnt be much of a problem. |

QUOTE(renesisx @ Jan 17 2009, 07:18 AM) wanna ask..is it necessary to have the partition to be primary? currently i only have my c partition is primary where my vista is installed..tried to instal iatkos i5 into my other partition which is logical extended..but cannot boot from it.. you need primary partition to boot os x. Reformat yr logical partition to primary partition, and install os x on that partition. Use easybcd if u want to use vista bootloader to access yr os x partition.cheers! |

QUOTE(toyol @ Jan 18 2009, 07:53 PM) Well definately keep you guys posted Yeah i think you should upgrade to at least a 32gb ssd. Which shop in Low Yat does sell the ssd. If you find one do let me know ya.What I found out from Dell US site is that the cheapest for the Dell Mini 9" which is going for around US350, is the basic Linux version that only comes with 1GB & 4GBSSD. No bluebooth, no cam and WWan(3G). Maxis' package comes with 'almost' full spec ( 1GB, 8gb SSD, bluetooth, wwan & 0.3 cam), so it totals up to about USD500. Right now Maxis is offering RM89x24 for Chinese New Year promo. RM240 savings I asked Maxis if Dell will do upgrades. They only said upgrading the ram is possible. For the SSD, looks like I have to go to my regular shop at Low Yat or buy from e-shop. I feel like getting the 32GB leh. Sure pokai wan and have to visit mamak shop often QUOTE(gengstapo @ Jan 20 2009, 03:53 PM) yo guys, let say im using 10.5.2 & ive update successfully to 10.5.3. the next i wanna do was update to 10.5.4. as known, there is delta(88mb) & combo(500mb plus) in size. my question: I think you should be able to upgrade to 10.5.4 without any problems, and since ure on 10.5.3 u dont need the combo update.1. if i choose the delta, do i have to use the update method from 10.5.2 to 10.5.3(run script by netkas) of just single click? 2. update with 10.5.4 combo MUST use the 10.5.2 to 10.5.3(run script by netkas) method, should it? 3. if i manage to update with delta package, do i still need to follow the old method(run script by netkas) when i wanna apply combo? TQ QUOTE(renesisx @ Jan 20 2009, 05:02 PM) wanna ask..why timing in my vista and mac os x is not same..ill have a problem when rebooting my vista..the time will be different..both are using the same gmt..kuala lumpur.. LOL, im having the same problem also, i`ll just manually change the time...doesnt bother me that much. |

Well, u can try kalyway for amd proc. But i think most ppl has success stories with the latest voodoo kernel, . Give it a try and let us know. But like CPURanger says, better get a C2D at least to run yr hack. Because u really need alot of tweaking ard to get os x to run on amd platform.for AMD, which one is the best distro? and on dual boot, what is the best method to do it? thanks a lot guys. Cheers! |

Get Pacifist to extract the kexts from the dvd. Then you can use kexthelper b7 or osx86tools to install the specific kexts.

QUOTE(bola @ Feb 11 2009, 09:22 PM) i'm currently on kalyway 10.5.2 and have been trying to install the retail OSX dvd via boot 132 method. Hifound that i have to build my own boot132 disc but i couldn't get Slimbuild to work properly. is there a proper guide on the net where i can follow? and is anyone out there with the Gigabyte G31M- S2L kexts? or even a prebuilt G31M boot disc iso? i managed to restore the retail DVD onto an external HDD and ran Chemeleon to install the bootloader onto the external HDD. It booted went into Darwin and as that thing spins around, the PC reboots. what am i doing wrong? Have you tried the generic iso? What kind of errors occur with the slimbuild iso maker? What kexts are u using for boot 132? You could start with the generic iso and add additional kexts later. It would be much easier to create a boot 132 usb loader. With usb loader you can add and remove kext without having to burn and recreate iso`s. Remember to backup yr extensions folder from kalyway install. u may need it later. Boot USB As for the pc rebooting i think you have the wrong kernel or i IntelCPUMdisabler kext is not loaded hence kernel panics, but of course you cant boot without a boot132 cd even if u have chameleon on the external HDD. The right kext are not loaded. btw, which retail method you`re using?Kext EFI partition? |

QUOTE(bola @ Feb 12 2009, 12:46 AM) Actually i've been a little ambitious. i thought i try and use the Stickpin USB Boot 132 method once i've built the iso using Slimbuild. my confusion is actually regarding the outputted files. Stickpin method should work, review back your steps. Else just use the generic iso to boot and install retail. i tried the [9]-step Stickpin USB Boot132 method with the generic.iso (40mb) as well. i followed the steps to the dot but it pops up with an error saying: SYSLINUX 3.63 Could not find kernal image: linux Boot: im on an intel core 2 duo E7200 2.53Ghz. can't i use the vanilla kernel from the retail dvd itself? im still rather new in all this. my understanding is to: 1. get boot 132 CD( or USB or restored retail dvd in an external hdd with cameleon installed) working. 2. swap out the Boot132 disc and boot the OSX Retail DVD 3. run through and complete the OSX installation 4. run cameleon to install bootloader + kext into efi partition. are my assumptions wrong? Or you could try SLimbuild method to create yr boot 132 cd. Put custom kexts in extensions folder, mod kernels in kernels folder and boot.plist file in plist folder. Run sudo ./slimbuild2.sh Yes you can use the vanilla kernel, i think yr intelCPUMdisabler/Disabler kext is not loaded iinm. Could you boot with -v and check whats the error. Try bootin retail with the boot 132 cd or usb. Yeah yr steps seems ok....should work flawlessly with the right kexts. BTW what graphic card ure using? |
