Anyone manage to get Nvidia 8600GT + Shutdown Fix working?

I know shutdown fix bricked after NVInject kicks in.

Also, there's a beta driver for iwi3945abg, but doesn't work for me haha sad.gif I think I have to get another wifi card. Sad.

Have u tried EFI strings for your 8600gt? im using strings for my gc...works fine. As for your shutdown issue, have u tried OpenHaltRestart.kext?

cheers!

EFI Strings require GUID right? I'm on MBR. sad.gif

OpenHalfRestart.kext, will give it a try. Thanks!

My Lenovo s10 is on mbr and using EFI Strings for the GMA950. Works pretty well. Give it a try.

Heya. Thanks for the heads up. Err, if I need to use EFI String, I need to remove NVInject right?

How to remove it then? From what I heard I need to remove it first before injecting. And if I inject the string right do I need to change my Model ID or some sort?

@@ Thanks!

Yeah u are right, u have to remove nvinject before applying the EFI strings. No need to change any model ID for your graphic card. Just to be safe download and install Leopard Graphics Update 1.0 with pacifist before applying EFI strings on your com.apple.boot.plist. Since ure using the same GC as mine here is the string for u, u could try this see if it works.
this is a copy if my boot.plist.
Copy the string under device-properties and paste it in your boot.plist.

cheers! hope it works!

I tried the default EFI String from EFIStudio and my QE/CI is no longer supported T_T

I am still in doubt whether I deleted all of the NVInject kexts. Gotta check again.

Also, I haven't try your string, will try it. Hopefully it works.

Weird thing is my audio is working, but a bit choppy at times (as if there's lag). =|

Shutdown is not working as well, I tried that kext but to no avail (by installation it came with it as well).

----

Edit

Once upon deleting all of the NV* kext and GE* kext, reboot, and graphics distorted. I set the resolution in the plist, and it worked.

Shutdown restart working normally again. =D

But no QE/CI T________T I used to have it when I use NVInject. WHYYYYYY T___T

Try cpus=1

to fix your sound issue. You may need to get SMBIOS fix for 2 Cpus thingy

Like I've said hacks on laptops aren't prefect

Now , my fujitsu u1010 has issues. I plug it in and it gets stucked in installation forever

Good news is that the touch screen works

Now I've to crack head to determine which kext is the culprit and a way to fix it. Let you know the outcome later

Voila - I've HacBook Air Tablet PC Edition !
*
Yo prasys. I know I can't use cpus=1 when I install it will throw me kernel panic. You mean if I boot I use cpus=1?

I think I did install teh SMBIOS fix. =| Not sure. I wonder is there a way for me to check it.

Oh btw prasys did you try -x? I know mine works after using -x cpus=2 for installing.

Nice Tablet Hackbook haha!

BWT prasys, I just rebooted into my Ideneb just now and the sound doesn't appear to be choppy anymore. Freaking weird!

I gotta figure out how to fix the time sync problem. Anyone know what kext to install? Thanks!

What time sync you referring into?
The Time Zone is it? Just select the sync with internet & choose the correct location, I think like that  hmm.gif
*
Sync between Mac and Windows time. Got it fixed with Zephyroth DualBoot Time Fix.

Since you're using a dell, why don't you buy the Wireless N card (for those who are trying hard for wifi)

This broadcom card works with COMPAQ laptops

RM 100 (yeah bit pricey) but its the same wifi card which can be found in MacBook Pros , its native - meaning it works out of the box without any hacking , etc

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=884377&hl=

I just ordered mine. Stupid Atheros card doesn't want to work with my U1010 !

Suk , that one works with your laptop. Check with the seller. Its the only card that we can find in Malaysia for laptops which works as Airport

Things that I thought would work but didn't work
1. Sound - AppleHDA keeps on giving me kernel panics. Figuring it out why
2. WiFi - expected this guy to work. Its Atheros MiniPCIe , but it doesn't work . Ordered Broadcom 802.11n card in order to fix this
*
Rm100? Walao. Gotta save up again sad. dry.gif

For your sound problem, are you using hacked AppleHDA or Vanilla? I know some hacked ones throw kernel panic.

Oh for my case, it's currently running like this:

Laptop specs:
Core 2 Duo 2.0 T7250
Broadcom LAN
Bluetooth 2.0
8600GT M

Installed Kexts: (so far)
NVInject (QE CI Working)
Broadcom Kext (From Dell Laptop Post Installer 1.4)
Touchpad (VoodooPS2Controller + Scroll working!!)
Internal keyboard (Ideneb 1.4 the PS2fix for keyboard)
Sigmatel 9205 (Custom AppleHDA and HDAEnabler, and custom driver dump found in forums patched using AppleHDAPatcher1.2) Everything including mic works.
IPW3945abg (The beta driver is not working so useless now)
TimeSync Fix by Zephy
Voodoo Kernel 9.5
Chameleon Bootloader (gonna install 2.0 RC later)

Works almost flawlessly besides shutdown/restart/sleep problem. SAD.
