Another thing is am i able to update like windows or i have to keep finding new iso's just for updating my osx? Thanks in advance. ^__^ Failed to state board model or notebook model. I take it this is a Pavilion, since you mentioned 15" screen? Still need the model number. |

QUOTE(belango @ Jan 4 2008, 04:17 PM) Your V3000 isn't going to work due to the Nvidia chipset used. If it'd only work I'd be all over the AU version of Presario instead of going with TU. I'm also a fan of AMD but it always come with incompatible chipset. |

QUOTE(pigduck @ Jan 5 2008, 11:46 PM) can i run the mac OS smoothly on this specs? No to last question. You need to wipe the drive and partition one for NTFS and another for HFS+. So yes it's a hell of a project.Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5500 (1.66GHz, 2MB, 667MHz) * 14.1" WXGA BrightView Technology * Intel GMA950 128MB * 1GB DDR2 Ram * 120GB Hard Disk Drive * DVD-RW Drive * Built-In 5 in 1 Card Reader * Built-In Wireless * Built-In Bluetooth * Windows Vista Home Basic Edition I want to keep my Windows though and just install Mac... possible? Which notebook is this? You need to specify EVERYTHING. "Built-in wireless" means nothing. And where's your Audio? You don't want audio output from OS X? QUOTE(allvin @ Jan 6 2008, 05:59 PM) haha.. great to heard that. If not la, i'm sure you bashing this thread. Hmm, -Intel Core2duo (forgot what is the Ghz) -Asus mainboard (sorry again, I'm not too sure which model, he bought roughly Rm600-700. It is good quality mainboard and the board got built in wifi) -2Gb kingston 667 -Asus 7300GT -500Gb maxtor HDD -1 PCI 400 Firewire card -1 LG DVD writer Should at least get a 7600GT. After all what's the point of putting up >2x ordinary priced mobos when really it's the graphics that slows down OS X? That being said, if you're looking for a good and cheap hacked OS X notebook, I'd say go with the BenQ S41. The most powerful card that you can slap into a Hackintosh these days is a 8800GT. QUOTE(allvin @ Jan 7 2008, 12:46 PM) it is just a budget la and for testing purpose, dude. If he wants, he can get 8800GTX or whatever. That machine is just a "project" for my ex-boss only. He can just dump it anyhow Not at all. Should I? If you say I should then I would, just for you. Anywya I was just mouthing off. I'm just saying, if he's so rich then he shouldn't have any reservation about popping an 8800 in there. That way he could show off to the rest of us who hadn't the guts to try. No guts no glory they say. As it is right now he only has a half-assed slapped together Hackintosh, no bragging rights there. And this being Malaysia, we like to do things just for show. Substance, eff that. But anyway I think it's great that he could even experiment with something so cutting edge as OS X. As seen in retail stores, people are so insecured about Apple user base that they have to install Windows Xp on the MacBooks on display. Then you have people going, "hey I can install a 'working' OS on this machine can't I? I mean no offense but OS X is at worst a toy, at best a hobby. Does it run on Windows Office? Can I surf for porn on it?" Trouble is these people hardly have any money to get a workstation and a toy at the same time, so they want everything in a neat package. Since your boss is such a bigshot I thought he wouldn't worry about something as trivial as an 8800. Beside, if he'd popped one into his Hackintosh he'd probably be the #1 person in Malaysia to have a Hackintosh with an 8800 card, correct me if I'm wrong. So I guess I'd have no choice but to be the first as soon as I get my hands on an 8800. And maybe then I'd be the first pseudo-rich guy in Malaysia to do that. We'll see.Although, seriously, if I want to look and act rich, I'd much rather put money into 3 Mac Pros. One to install Vista, which I use simply to play Halo 2, another for Ubuntu, for Deluge, and last one I dual boot Xp and OS X, just because I can. Indeed. Those who are experimenting with notebooks might also want to take this precaution to heart.

QUOTE(Balok @ May 21 2008, 11:14 PM) 1 question, Your LAN is Attansic L2, no solution. Get an network PCI card. Your audio is Reaktek ALC883 so you should get 5.1ch sound. Video isn't a problem either since it's the old 945, but as with all desktops you're free to pick a good graphic card.how to know my MOBO can use hackintosh or not? currently using ASUS P5GC-MX with 1.8GHz Pentium D and 1GB ram also this question, can i sync Hackintosh with my Mac? and use the screen sharing features? |
