Ideneb 1.4 + Vostro 1500.

Anyone manage to get Nvidia 8600GT + Shutdown Fix working?

I know shutdown fix bricked after NVInject kicks in.

Also, there's a beta driver for iwi3945abg, but doesn't work for me haha sad.gif I think I have to get another wifi card. Sad.
*
Have u tried EFI strings for your 8600gt? im using strings for my gc...works fine. As for your shutdown issue, have u tried OpenHaltRestart.kext?

EFI Strings require GUID right? I'm on MBR. sad.gif

OpenHalfRestart.kext, will give it a try. Thanks!

My Lenovo s10 is on mbr and using EFI Strings for the GMA950. Works pretty well. Give it a try.

Heya. Thanks for the heads up. Err, if I need to use EFI String, I need to remove NVInject right?

How to remove it then? From what I heard I need to remove it first before injecting. And if I inject the string right do I need to change my Model ID or some sort?

@@ Thanks!
*
Yeah u are right, u have to remove nvinject before applying the EFI strings. No need to change any model ID for your graphic card. Just to be safe download and install Leopard Graphics Update 1.0 with pacifist before applying EFI strings on your com.apple.boot.plist. Since ure using the same GC as mine here is the string for u, u could try this see if it works.

this is a copy if my boot.plist.

a nice fellow redirect me to this thread tongue.gif I was in the middle deciding buying a new PC or a mac mini see my post here, after reading for a few hours I see some sucessfull story about this so called HackPro  laugh.gif, So I might give a shot, my current target is to get either Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33Ghz or Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0Ghz which is under my budget (RM2500) question is I can't figure out which motherboard to use tongue.gif ah yes also planning to have ATI HD4670 for GC, any recomendation for motherboard for my HackPro setup?

and will the Leopard Install DVD came with My macbook pro can be use for installation?

Thanks

PS: this might spoil my plan to buy a mac mini lol
*
Hi there, i can help u on this, for the mobo get the gigabyte EP-45-UD3L/R/P, as for the graphic card go for the 9800gtx+ if u got cash or any second hand 8800gt or 8600gt. Processor go for c2d or c2q.

And i think u can't install leopard using the DVD from your macbook pro, u have to get retail leopard disc or one of the modded distros.

cheers!

I saw this news on the net today
Does this means we can use a cheaper and better graphic card - HD 4850, instead of 9800GTX+, 8800gt or 8600gt?
*
Yes, shld work i guess, the new mac pro`s will support ati 4870 , most probably the drivers will be out in the 10.5.7 update. As for the mobo get the UD3R it should work just fine.

Refer to cktan27 previous posts for the UD3R installation guide.

cheers!

If ure bold go for i7 system biggrin.gif

The downside about the mini 10v is the battery, only 3 cells battery no 6 cells. Thats a bummer with that price u can get an s10 with 6 cells battery.

And OSX should work on the 10v but, hopefully the trackpad is the same like the mini9 or else there will be more problems to get the driver for it.

As for sound, graphics and wifi, like Prasys say it should work.

cheers!

had to tear the whole mini 10v apart in order to upgrade the RAM.  Ridiculous.  There's a back opening.... thought it was for the RAM, but guess what, it's for WIFI card.  Gosh.....  And it's running on a 1GB DDR2 800MHz SoDIMM.  Upgrading to 2GB tonite.  ..... then hack.
*
Mr. Ngiau, wow that hard to upgrade the RAM. Hurmm...any stickers or seal at the back of the laptop to show that uve open the mini 10v? As for os x, im sure u can install it without much of a problems. U can start with mini 9 kexts. should work.

Reply once u get it up and running ya! i wanna know the results too.

EFI-X just release its update for its users to update to 10.5.7 ? Quite slow for a so called hackintosh solutions provider. tongue.gif The 10.5.7 was available 2 weeks ago.

Hello guys..
I am new to OSX86 and I am downloading iAtkos v7 10.5.7 DVD now.

I googled about the installation guide to dual boot iAtkos with windows 7 but most guides does not include dual booting tutorial or it's too complicated for a beginner like me.

Any sifu has a guide or can teach me in detail?
thx

P/S:
My laptop specs are:
Acer Aspire 4535
ATI Radeon HD3200 graphics
AMD Turion X2 technology RM-75
2Gb RAM
250gb HDD
Acer Nplify 802.11b/g/n
Windows 7 RC

Is iAtkos v7 suitable for my specs? or my specs is totally cannot support OSX86?
*
Zelleonhart

You could try to install after downloading it, make sure to choose voodoo kernel at the customize screen and respective drivers for your lappy. And i think your graphic card wont be able to get QE/CI. Just normal resolution only.

Either than that i think its quite hard to install osx86 on your lappy because of the hardware compatibility, no harm for u try though, it might just work.

cheers.

To uninstall it just format back the partition in windows. and yes 30gb is enough for you to play around with.

Good luck!

anyone here using Efi-x usb dongle?
i was thinking either use the boot 132 or efix dongle depends on the stability since i'm using it on my main rig
*
Hi,

Well i guess both will work fine, just that boot132 method needs a few tweaking here and there to have a stable system. Where with the EFI-X its just plug and play. What is your hardware specs like? If it has the generic hackintosh support hardware then im sure u wont have much issues with the boot 132 method.

Go for quad core if u have the budget, as for graphics get the 4870 or 4890. That should work fine.

Parallel 4 checks for hackint0sh or mac. Stick with V3 if you're using hackint0sh till there is a proper way to fix it !

Hah, audio got a minor problem with my audio, might try VoodooHDA.

No need la bro, you can buy SL at Apple Store Malaysia or perhaps you can check local Apple resellers.

Indeed, u can just buy it off the shelf, but everywhere is out of stock now, have to wait for a week or 2 for them to replenish.

As for parallels desktop 4.0 users, they just release build 4.0.3846, this supports 64bit and the error could not load parallels driver is gone.

cheers!
