CF to SATA converter paired with 16gb CF (used to use for my DSLR but i feel it is too big so gonna make full use of it tongue.gif )

and also intel atom dual core HTPC. gonna test it on my HTPC by installing osx86 on it smile.gif

which distro shall i go for intel atom with intel 945 chipset?

its been some time since i am into Hackintosh  blush.gif

nowadays so many distros tongue.gif

I rather choose linux or windows over OSX for HTPC purposes. More varieties and more codec options , its much more flexible

Hi, people. I haven't post in here for sometime, because I haven't been playing with my Hackintosh much. Well, with the WiFi card in development, there is not much I can do, anyway.

Today, I decided to fix the time problem with dual-booting setup. I downloaded the AppleTime.exe and the registry. It work well. The time is now fix, but once again my laptop keyboard can't be used. >.<

I use back the kext that skitZo uploaded, but it seems it no longer work. sad.gif

Installation of audio kext doesn't seems to work well too. I tried playing movie and song, I don't see any visual nor did I hear any sound.

I am wondering if I should download and try iDeneb, or should I just fix problems I encountered?

Correction , more

Its just bit more cumbersome (or as I put it - very mafan ) to set it up. Linux has more drivers then X ! That's why you're seeing developers trying hard to port drivers based on *nix drivers to *nix. Even the famous HDA Patcher was actually derived from Linux ! Oh yeah since you love your hack - You should get at least an apple keyboard or some apple stuff tongue.gif (or at least the legit copy of OSX)

Draconian , need more details of your hack

Finally managed to fix my Intel 8255xx Ethernet kext. Phew , it took me a day to get it to work and finally I did it tongue.gif

IMO stick with ubuntu

Even for my Media Center , I am sticking with Windows Vista Home Premium. I am not going to switch that to OSX , as it isn't a HTPC (Bear in mind , mine records TV shows (ASTRO) . so I have no choice but to use Vista , of course I could opt for linux but my parents are using it. you don't want them to like go ..."what's that...")

of course it will dual boot with windows. while main function will be on windows, the osx86 project is just a mere experiment. Will try to convert ubuntu into one media centre if i have chance.

currently my sis is using it as her main pc due to some problems with her pc.

I just need to know what distro shall i invest on tongue.gif

Cool nice to hear that! thumbup.gif

BTW for the p35-DQ6 what install are you using?Retail? Distro? Bootloader? If possible could u share your custom kext here. Im sure a lot of users here have the gigabyte p35 board. Seems to be quite a common board nowadays.

As for Webcams. Yesterday I was doing a homework. Oh yeah if you guys got any kext questions or hacking related sutff. I can help to an extend , my skills are rusty - long time didn't touch these stuff already tongue.gif - So let me know if you need some help in something and i'll try my best

Oh where was I , uh yes Webcams. Any UVC webcams would work with OSX automagically. When I say UVC , look and buy for webcams which has this "Certified for Windows Vista" or "Designed for Vista". These webcams don't require any drivers and they work out of the box. They work fine with OSX without any issues , and photo booth and iChat works

For your information, I am using a cheap made in china camera for RM 35. Its UVC enabled (thank god). OSX detected it and it worked automagically

If you need help , read more in this site

http://www.mac-compatible-web-cam.com/

Even xbox 360 camera works with OSX. Its around RM 155

i will be digging into this guide this weekend hopefully. all the drivers are packaged there so i guess i need not to worry tongue.gif but i will need to find a retail version of mac os x tongue.gif

edit: this is my 800th post! biggrin.gif

I believe Intel 39xx drivers aren't developed. So it wouldn't work

As for LAN , check the device ID in Windows. see if it works well or not
