I just want to say THANK YOU for knowing what a good car should be like and it looks like you appreciate a good drive! wub.gif

If there's ever one feature i might miss from the ativa if i were to switch cars, it'd be the D-CVT's characteristics of wanting to coast.

Someone else also pointed this out, but if i sound like i truly hate my car, i do, but it feels very "free-ing" and "flow-y" when the car doesn't have significant engine braking once you're at the highest gear.

If you're travelling on our inner city highways like LDP, coasting at 80km/hr and then going up a flyover, assuming you're maintaining constant pedal pressure, you'll lose 10km/hr climbing the flyover without jeopardising your fuel consumption of atleast 20km/l, but as you're coming down, the car regains its 80km/hr speed with very little effort and again without jeopardising fuel consumption, heck you might even exceed abit more than 80km/hr. However, if you ease off the pedal coming down the flyover, you can easily maintain 70km/hr with a much better fuel consumption.

Another cool scenario is when you're coming down the steep highway at bukit lanjan on the NKVE, its so steep, but most cars would immediately engine brake if there's no throttle input, but the ativa would pick up speed. If you give it a very slight pedal pressure, you can actually accelerate the car from 55km/hr to 100km/hr and the fuel consumption bar would be FULLY green.

It baffled me because somehow Alza AV (H still with crappy IFU) got the new and slightly better head unit but Ativa / Aruz which within the same range still get the shitty IFU.

Right now, I just use Miracast set-up as my daily is an iPhone.

Perodua can actually initiate a Buy-Back programmed whereby AV model IFU for both Aruz and Ativa can be change to Alza AV IFU for free. Only if need 360-Cam then need to add some charges. It is a win-win for consumer and perodua.  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

But it's perodua, there's no reason for them to take any proactive steps since there's barely anyone complaining about the ativa. Our standards are so low, that we are willing to accept the status quo.

Do you mind elaborating what exactly it does and does it have any impact to comfort ride including going over bumps and potholes in a diagonal manner.

City drives
Suv > sedan/ hatchback cos taller can see further ahead & very minor flood say 1 foot got slight height advantage

Also turbo > NA (small engines) for start stop traffic due to low end torque.

I disagree that an SUV's higher ride height provides a straightforward advantage over a sedan or hatchback.

Sure, if you value visibility from a higher ride height. But what also happens is, any obstacles/objects/children, that are short or low, become much more difficult to notice WHEN, you are close to these objects.

In my old W203, I never realised this would be an issue until I started driving my Ativa. Now, I cant even tell if there's a safety cone or a curb next to me. The other day, while making a turn at IKEA's parking lot, I didnt realise I was close to the curb and lightly bumped my wheel against the curb. Driving since 2011 and that has never happened to me before.

Every time i exit my condo, I have to make a 90 degree left or right turn and there's a plastic pole which I need be extra cautious that I don't scratch my sides against. Its really much harder to notice these things in the Ativa. I can only imagine this to be more difficult if driving a taller vehicle like a Fortuner.

Lastly, driving position. Unless its a Merc or a BMW SUV, the driving position is never as good as something like a Vios or City. Been driving the Ativa for almost a year and my ankles and heels still ache from long drives.

Your continuous complaints about your Ativa, considered selling it?

Immediately, when the opportunity presents itself.

What opportunities are you waiting for actually?

I’m also considering selling mine, just considering Carsome or Private.

Nolah, just my own personal situation.

Oh you're looking to sell too? Care to share your reason for selling?

i did a 24000km service check 2 weeks ago and perodua found a nail in my tyre.

they did a quick fix using the rubber insert and they re-inflated all 4 wheels.

but can you guess how much they inflated?

42psi 290kpa

isn't that ridiculously high?!

i used to drive an old w203 c-class and the tyre pressure info by the door only stated 33psi for 5 pax, why the heck is perodua inflating up until 42psi.

another friend of mine who bought a new city said she received her city with similarly high tyre pressures as well.

i can understand if the tyre are slightly over inflated like 37-38psi, but dang bro, i have never seen 42 before on such a small car
