Hello! I'm going to place booking for Ativa AV this week, still torn between silver and white  rclxub.gif
Would like to ask the owners here, do you send your car for paint protection treatment such as coating or waxing?
I was told ceramic coating got possibility will void paint warranty. Hope someone could give their opinion on this. Thanks  notworthy.gif

White (No panda) owner here, white very nice if kept clean all the time, but very easily dirty. In hindsight would’ve considered grey/black or silver. Would pick blue if AV had the option to.

Hi all, the year is going to end soon. How you guys doing so far, and with your ativa?

Recently just got my DVR replaced.

The situation is something like this:
1. Engine malfunctioning indicator appeared.
2. front camera malfunctioning indicator appeared.
3. my DVR is not responding, while the perodua logo appeared. There's no response from each button I clicked from the DVR panel.

The SC guy told me that when switching from P to R / D, must be switch immediately, but not to hold on the state between the gear (for my case, between P and R, as the indicator appeared during transition switch from P to R). Due to this, it may cause system malfunctioning (false alarm), and has to send back to SC to do the reset.

The next day after the issue happened, I found that the indicator is not appeared and it's seem back to normal, assume everything is restored back automatically LOL, manage to send the car to SC and replace a new DVR.
*

DVR as in the dashcam? I thought the front camera malfunction indicator is for the ASA camera?

Ya! Blue not bad. In the end I place booking for white panda, will send it for coating or need to rajin wash car. So far haven't see dirty white Ativa on the road but so takut when I see other dirty white cars like yellow sweat.gif
Now just waiting in queue cause SA say perodua factory shutdown till 10th Jan for maintenance
*
Grats on booking! Hope you get yours soon.
Maybe because you haven’t seen mine hahahahah. This colour easily have the dark coloured water streaks after rain. I just send it to car wash and occasionally wax.
Ativa white is metallic, so I don’t think will turn yellow (yet).

QUOTE(ry8128 @ Jan 18 2022, 01:18 AM)
Thanks for info. In term of safety and fuel efficiency, how does ativa compares to myvi?
*
Can’t speak for Myvi, but 90% city drive (very short distances, around 10km trips everyday) I achieve around 11km/l on the meter. Long distance highway trips around 18 to 20km/l.

Safety-wise should be quite similar since the new Myvi has ASA 3.0 also. Chassis rigidity both should be quite similar not very strong, I feel like this has always been Perodua’s Achilles’ heel.

The main differences between Myvi and Ativa from my point of view is the body style je; SUV vs Hatchback.

Heard the new Alza coming also, maybe worth to wait and see.

Thanks. In term of reliability and maintenance cost, should be quite similar right?
*
According to Mr Paul (Google Ativa service cost comparison), costs are similar for first five years if you service in SC.
But in the long run definitely abit more pricey than Myvi due to turbo engine.

Has anyone determined the engine rpm at the speed of 110 km/h?
*
iirc hovering around 2.6k to 3kish (assuming not climbing any hills)? can't remember exact figures.
there are youtube videos that showcase the car rpm at this speed also, worth checking out.

Wow, very nice.
You did all this yourself? How long did it take for the roof? Was it difficult?
I want to do this also, but won’t the car become a lot heavier?

QUOTE(ed209 @ Feb 27 2022, 06:09 PM)
Hi, I'm a new Ativa owner here. Just got my car during CNY eve and logged my 1st 1000km last week.

May i ask around, is anyone already experiencing rattling sounds in the cabin? I keep hearing a buzzing rattling sound when i travel over rough patches of road.

By rough i mean road surfaces that is very grainy. The sort you'd look at and notice the individual stones on the road.

It appears to originate from the driver door but somewhere lower down the door. It sounds like a speaker rattle but I'm not sure.

I saw a post somewhere that some wires in the doors are prone to rattling.

I'd be sad if im alone in this.
*
Yes mine rattle also.
Seems to come from a lot of places, can't determine exact spots.
Dashboard (Suspect wires underneath headunit), inside the driver door, one of the rear doors.
Have to find where they come from and why.
Sent before to SC they told me ok dy but in reality didn't make a difference.

QUOTE(ed209 @ Feb 28 2022, 10:59 AM)
are those the areas which you have identified and requested SC to fix?

abit bummed out that such a new car and already got this sound. on the bright side its just lose wiring and not lose panels or parts.

have you experienced any oddities with your car? so far twice, ive experiened no power at all when cold start and then driving up a parking ramp immediately. i informed SC on my 1st 1000km inspection, and they found no problems. i assumed that the engine needed some time to warm up, so now i usually jsut wait for the rpms to drop from 2k to 1k which doesnt take long, but still, modern cars in tropical climates really shouldnt need engine warm ups, very odd.
*
Yeah, that time told SC dashboard area got sound, they said they checked dy no issues, but the sound still persists to this day. Plan to take to other places to check.
The only other gripe I have with this car is that it is quite brittle, bumpers everything easy to crack if you accidentally bump into something.
Other than that, no other issues with mine.

Edit: Forgot about my faulty cupholder lol. Passenger side cupholder suddenly would not pop out, sent to SC and said will report and order the parts.

is this still an issue for you? i suspect only android phones up until android 10 will work with smartlink. anything more up to date can never be connected.

currently using OP 8T and it will constantly disconnect and reconnect every second, but when i tried my OP 3T, worked fucken flawlessly, so sad.

honestly quite surprised that not many ppl are complaining about smart link in this group.
*
Last time I used with my Poco F3, Android 11 using EasyConnection rather than Smartlink. Worked pretty well, but now my phone port rosak, can’t even connect to computer, not using anymore.
Very convenient to have Maps or Waze on the head unit while driving, although Carplay or Android Auto support would be a lot better.

this may the most rookie thing i havent heard, but should i still waiting for engine to heat up first after turning it on then move or
i can just straight go after turning it on.
(about to own new ativa soon)
*
There is a blue light on the meter that shows when you start up, meaning engine not yet warm enough. I usually wait until the light disappears before I drive (unless in a rush).

Any idea where to get this bodykit? Preferably Klang Valley / Seremban area
*
On Carousell, I saw got one post listed for ~10k in Kepong area.

*
Misread, my bad. As per amdxp, did you mean original bumper or just the body kit? The ones I found are original Raise front and rear bumpers.

QUOTE(amdxp @ Mar 8 2022, 10:23 AM)
Modelista bodykit, do you mean the front and rear bumper of T.Raize plus modelista ?

Or the local make Modelista add-on bodykit on the original Ativa's front and rear bumper ?  (saw that on shopee before, but since the seller is "on holidays")

Is this your car? Wondering if any extra work had to be done to fit this bodykit on to the car.

Sorry my bad too coz I'm not really expert about this.. I just call it as bodykit  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

But yes, I want to install front & rear bumber like the one from amdxp post.. looks very nice.

That costs around RM10k eh?
*
If bodykit only no need 10k, but market still kurang right now, may need to dig a bit.
10k is for the front and rear bumper, this quite a lot of people do.
