Depends on agreement. Some tenant pay, some owner pay.

Indah Water is considered as utility.
For commercial property such as offices etc, the charges will be based on the water usage of that month.
For residential property, IWK charges fixed monthly amount regardless on the water usage.

Everyone thought because of this fixed amount then is like maintenance fees should be borned by owner.
But in fact, IWK is utility and should be paid by tenant just like TNB and water bill.

There is a diff between Water, Electricity with IndahWater, Quitrent

Water, Electricity Name could use tenant name to register and it does not impact Sales and purchase of the property when change hand.
These bill can be cut and there is no risk to the owner.

However, it is by Law that QuitRent, Maintenance and IndahWater must be settle before we could Sell the house...

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Actually in a lot of tenancy - Indah water will be paid by the tenants (considering it as a form of utility).

So lets say a condo = RM48 for 6 months = RM8 per month. Some owners just disregard it then they just pay themselves.

Notice that for commercial land they are charging rm26 per month. So expensive.. but im using the unit for residential. Told indah water together with prove of unit picture, water reading, tnb they still need letter from mbsa stating that it is under residential.

Headache ady ah. Tnb can residential but why not indah water?
