Hi ,

Can someone please help - I just need to know how do I withdraw balance from a Bursa Malaysia account?

This account belongs to my late father . My mother keeps getting the account statement letter for years but didn't open them,. I opened and checked it last week, and saw there is actually some balance in there (although not much). So i am thinking to help withdraw the balance and put it into her account, and close the account.

I saw there is a 'withdrawal form' thing on google, but considering this account is not mine, is there any other extra procedures that I need to know of?

I hope someone here can help me.. Because the incompetent Operator handling Bursa Malaysia's helpline keeps transferring my phone calls without even trying to help me. I think I called more than 10 times already. ranting.gif

Thank you 🙏

Hey man, since the account belongs to your late father. You will need an LA/Probate to do anything with it. Since your father passed on quite sometime back, I'm assuming you would've gotten it done either via a lawyer or Amanah Raya back in the day.

For you to move the shares, engage your broker to help out if possible. Mine helped to prepare and submit the request together with relevant documents (LA/Probate among others) and I actually went to Bursa to sign the documents in person. The shares will then be transferred to your account in due time and you're then free to do what you want with it.

That's how I did it. Hope it helps
