once you see and touch the real thing... the plastic and thinness of the plastic the sharp edges etc will remind you of cheap perodua. do a lot of fancy design but cheapen the feel. i have the 2nd and 3rd gen myvi in my family and i can tell the quality of the 3rd gen is so disappointing, the 2nd gen is better though the interior design is simpler. the door panels and dash better put together and plastics are thicker.

the x50 interior is way better.

I concur this. I’ve 1st gen and 3rd gen at home. 3rd gen may look nice but you’ll be disappointed when you touch and drive it. Within few months, you’ll have 360 surround sound of Philharmonic all around. Riding over bumps or pothole you’ll realize it’s hollow everywhere. Even the 1st gen which was driven more than 150k km and more than 10 years feels solid and less rattling (not to say don’t have but less).

You’re buying perceived quality but actually cheap lousy quality stuff.

by this logic should buy ativa first gen since quality better than subsequent gen?

By this logic means Perodua build better cars in 2010-2015 (as poster say 2nd gen also good) than 2020 onwards because probably they want to profit more?
