Quite a waste for a decent gpu. Expecting at least a 2k reso instead.

Read the spec some of seller .mention about display port over usb C..how it actually work? Can connet to external monitor for atleast 144hz for 2k monitor?

Use USB-C to an adapter which has display port and connect it to the ext monitor.

Should be no problem for 2k 144hz but if you plan to use for gaming, the 3060 won't be able to max out settings for most games except CS:Go

It is quite the king of budget laptops. Mine with R7 + 1650 runs like a beast, almost as good as my ge75 i might say. Thermals are also on a whole different level (cooler).

The 3060 in the acer is quite low power, won’t be surprised if you face some performance issues.

Im using HWINFO64 to monitor the power consumption. Out of the box, it was 85watts max. After the recent BIOS upgrade, it shows 100Watts.

Really depends on the Price VS Power. This laptop spec is pretty reasonable for the price. So, im happy with it.

Wat is the boost of performance like? Cos i last time got tis legion y520 1060 3gb din know is max-q, the graphics card perfromance is like 50% of 1060 6gb now scare oledi underpowered version.

Hi guys, I am thinking of getting the Acer Nitro 5 based on:
1. stock is available
2. dealer offered rm3999 for 8GB, and for the 16GB RAM model at additional rm200(cheap?). Come with backpack n wireless mouse
3. May be final 2 years get another unit n this unit will become family unit.
4. Good support from Acer's JB service centre near by.

What I need to know is this Acer Nitro 5 a good unit in terms of speed, screen, battery, price? Most importantly, is it suitable for Electrical/electronic engineerig student?

I unironically using an Acer Nitro 5 for gaming and working as a data engineer. Hasn't given me any trouble in the past three months of using it. The keys are tactile and the performance is solid. I love it.

It's definitely a good recommendation for Electrical/ electronic engineering but of course, have to check what's the recommended specs from your university as well. Then I can maybe share you some recommended laptop for you.
