QUOTE(White2000 @ Nov 20 2022, 08:08 PM) RIP screen, used Dettol wet tissue to "disinfect phone" after lending it to a coughing coworker. Multiple green vertical lines on screen. Lesson learnt, luckily still can use and no ghost touch. wow... didn't realise these things can be deadly to phone screen. but yeah, usually i have TG SP, so wipe with soap, etc... never really touch the actual screen... so never realised this. thanks for sharing

Xiaomi doesn't particularly support phones as long as Apple or Samsung does. If I recall correctly, the duration of support for phones that are budget oriented (i.e. Redmi and Poco) are 2 major OS updates and 3-4? years of security updates. Poco F3 started with MIUI 12 on Android 11, then last year we had MIUI 13 on Android 12. Now the latest will be MIUI 14 on Android 13 which is the second major OS update. Fingers crossed for another year on Android 14. This post has been edited by SwarmTroll: Jan 16 2023, 11:49 AM

It will be a few more years before Google stop supporting the older Android firmware. Like right now Android 10-13 are still supported. So if Poco F3 only get up to 13 maybe by 2026 before you force to change phone.

QUOTE(poweredbydiscuz @ Jan 19 2023, 09:04 AM) How's the screen quality compared to F3? i would say almost same except for the brightness cant compare with amoled and the backlight bleed( which is normal for LCD). better to use amoled on dark room. while under hot sun, i havent test yet . the review said amoled will perform much better than LCD. suppose to be so since spec also said the brightness is lower than amoled last time i also scared because it use LCD instead of amoled. i already like amoled on F3 but if i go to LCD, seem like downgrade. most review i found also they said this is the best LCD for a phone. well, most phone now came with amoled. so far i use it. seem good. except those 2 items i mentioned above.

I'm guessing he does not have any screen protector installed but even then it's odd that wet tissues can damage the screen since it's more like moist than actually dripping wet.

I wonder if there was any cracks in the screen thus causing the solution of the wet wipes to seep in and kill the display?
