Official LineageOS 19.1 is now out for Poco F3!
https://download.lineageos.org/alioth
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-offi...s-19-1.4418635/

I've been using 18.1 for few months and really love it. No headache with shitty MIUI.

Also can set refresh rate to 90hz. Enjoy the smoothness while cost little battery.

I immediately unlocked the bootloader when the phone arrived.
Flashing custom rom won't void the warranty as long you re-lock the bootloader with MiFlash.

One of the main reason I prefer lineageOS is the privilege of getting "Android Security Update" every month!

I might worded it wrong.
Let me rephrase,

If you unlock the bootloader, no your warranty will not be void.
However if you show up to a Xiaomi service center with an unlocked bootloader AND a custom ROM, they will consider your warranty voided.

TL;DR
Flash stock ROM (Global) + Re-Lock Bootloader when sending to Xiaomi Service center.

volte = voice over LTE
vowifi = voice over WiFi.

VOLTE/VOWIFI = calls wont drop data anymore.. without it, previously when a call comes in your data will not be available.

1) Voice-over-WiFi
2) I don't use them so I don't really care
3) No, there is no extra charge for using it

1. Means you can make phone calls via Wifi network. Even if your area no line or signal very weak, you can still make clear phone calls as long as got Wifi connection.
2. Maxis vowifi still not available on F3. Not sure about other telcos.
3. FOC.

this part only correct for VOLTE. VOWIFI is diff.

before this, 2G will be use for voice call and where the 4G will be use for data.
so when you make call, ur phone will switch from 4G to 2G( hence no data), after you drop the call, it will switch back to 4G because the data only came from 4G, 2G dont hv data, only voice.
this is when VOLTE coming in, where in 4G, you can make voice call thru 4G, without drop to 2G. more bandwith on 4G mean ur call will be more clear, high quality calls.

where VOWIFI, is when you are in bad reception of the phone line but connected to wifi in ur house, ur call will go thru this wifi and to someone else phone. without need phone line reception. its good to have when ur area have bad reception either 2G or 4G but have strong wifi connection.

both require telco to enable this feature.

anyway, i just bought this F3 yesterday for the 6GB variant. seem like no more stock for 8GB or they didnt lower the price yet. some seller i see still use old price.
i cant wait for the F4 to be launch, with minimal changes but the price seem back to original price. so i think better just take F3. sweat.gif
hopefully no more issue with quality/motherboard as i heard poco got this issue. i have been using mi3 since it came out and have use other xiaomi model so far, no issue whatso ever except the redmi note power button.

so VOLTE consume the data during the call? if no data, it switch to 2g?

when VOLTE, ur voice call go thru 4G/LTE line. not 2G. so when u in call, you are still connected to internet. mean u can browser internet while in calls.
in 4G/LTE, it will split between voice ( which will use the data as well, but not ur internet data quota) and ur data.( internet data quota).
so ur question "no data, switch to 2g" is incorrect. if you dont have data plan or internet data quota, you still can make call thru 4G/LTE, because its use voice data, not internet data.

its diff if ur telco or phone didnt support volte. your phone must switch to 2G when make call, because its cant go thru voice in that 4G/LTE.

you can google or check maxis https://www.maxis.com.my/en/about-maxis/max...k/volte-vowifi/

I can vouch for that as I'm typing this from a Poco F1 running Pixel Experience 12L with NGK kernel. Custom ROMs are a godsend for anyone who has a bit of know-how with computers and the right files.

The F1 and F3 have a rather large variety of ROMs so you're covered for support well after Xiaomi drops it from the lineup.

previously im using F1 PE11 + default kernal.
i found out MiUi is more battery optimized.
but apps working flawless in PE,
eg no more duplicate notification for Huawei Band, app more smooth feeling and etc
