Thought you want to show the actual bosses behind these 2 companies. Kids whose parents can't afford to buy proper toys love them back then, mostly fiscal cheap toys. Ding Dang is actually taken from Doraemon based on HK dubbed cartoon, the mascot modified from Doraemon while Tora name taken from Tora! Tora! movie on Pearl Harbor attack.
