I've just installed Adobe CS3 from my friend's original DVD. But the thing is after I keyed in the serial number I have to activate it online. Otherwise after 30 days i won't be able to use it anymore. Is there any way I can "get rid" of this activation process? Hehe~~ I'll be so dead without Photoshop... :-(

ya there is a way... just google it...

£47.50 for AppleCare is dirt cheap!  It's not applicable to post graduate students is it? sad.gif

I purchased mine with UK HE discount smile.gif

they offer the ACPP for almost £60 (including tax) for my macbook pro but if you read properly that is only a lift up for your UK HE contract where you get phone call service and delivery. If you order online you can get 3 years warranty if i not mistaken. The ACPP is just for a peace of mind smile.gif

I got my MBP with free ipod promo last year (just after leopard launch) biggrin.gif

oh u get such a good deal! i guess i will wait for the next promo as well since i was considering changing my old core duo toshiba laptop to mbp as well...

*sigh* really want Macbook Pro, but WAY to expensive... not that i cant afford but never used Mac before, so for me to get a MBP is waste... need to start low first... either MB or iMac...
*
haha yeah.. that why i buy the macbook for my gf first.. after start using it... it just too good compare to my toshiba laptop... ahh really headache now

well, if u got extra cash, go for MBP as they are clearing the MBP 2.2 @ RM5799!!!! if they still got stock.

Well, I've bought my MB 2.2 in end jan and eversince, i've no regrets in buying it. In fact, I'm gonna get an Imac soon, hopefully.

The speed is just amazing, let's just say the booting time is less than 30 secs and my xp, well it takes almost 5mins!!!! Henceforth u will spend more time in being more productivity rather than just wait for your pc to wake up!!!!

As for the OSX, Vista is definitely a loser as my gf notebook is running vista, it's super slow..... till i dozed off awaiting it to boot up.
*
ya instead of get a macbook now why don get the clearance mbp!! it has better spec and it look cool!

well about the imac, there is rumour say they will be another upgrade for imac on this coming tuesday! so why don wait for the upgrade before u purchase imac?

am definitely, vista is really a lame upgrade for window especially the user control stuff... that is really stupid but i cant just turn it off... curse it

I asked Machines if its possible to upgrade my specs, and they said that they would need to order it for me and it would take about 4-6 weeks. Coz i was thinking of getting a white MacBook but with 250GB hard disk... Dont really like the black... It looks alright from the top, but the keypads and all dont really look nice in black... However, they couldn't give me a price estimate...
*
why don just buy a new harddisk and install it urself? i think is quite cheap to do it urself and u can even upgrade to 320gb

Maybe he scared he might do something wrong. I won't upgrade mb by myself as well. If something goes wrong and mb goes kaput, waste 4000 just like that.
*
well... installation a harddisk is not that hard..it pretty simple to install a harddrive to a mbp... just read the user manual or go to youtube to watch some video clip and u will know what i mean...

Hi, my friend got a MB 2 weeks ago. He complaint Office for Mac launching slow on his machine. I am thinking of getting 1 MB too but was discouraged by this new finding.

Anyone has the same experience here? is this normal?
*
erm... which office u use? is it office 2008?
well.. honestly, the launching time for office 2008 is about the same as the launching time of office 2007 in pc.. so for me that won be the major problem
however, office 2008 is quite hard to use compare to office 2007.. i think mircosoft purposely do that since they don want ppl migrate to mac.. some handly function which improve in 2007 cant find in mac version...

Sadly bought it in London. And I'm in Newcastle , don't think theres any apple retail store here. And I got another 1cm mid-deep scratch on the top casing. Geez. You sure I can replace it ? LOL. I don't wanna face the scratch and dent for 2years haha. And how can I get it done in my city ? Any ideas wink.gif?

Hi all,

I'm deciding between the new MB and MBP. My common tasks are:

1) surfing
2) office
3) photo editing (but not heavy editing)
4) listening to music

Which do you recommend?
*
if got extra $$ go for MBP ..
