MBP also will have the same problem. Its not about the graphic card but the software itself. At the the moment, parallels and vmware have not supported 3D yet thus Aero desktop on vista is not possible. The only way is by Bootcamp.

@Frenly

The best bet is to max your RAM on MBP. Mine with 2GB also is insufficient. Its like running windows xp on PIII machine.  smile.gif

All in all, how's the performance like in Parallels on a 2GB macbooks?

2 GB (around RM 180) of memory doesn't sound to expensive now, but the price jump to 4 GB (around RM 860) is a bit too much for me to pay at the moment. smile.gif

Apple requires special RAM? Correct me if I'm wrong, since both pc and mac is running on the same platform, why does the mac requires different ram?

As for the RAM price above, the one going for that price is Mushkin. They're a cap ayam company now? smile.gif

i think to increase the percentage of mac users in m'sia is by selling same price as they are selling in USD. for example, macbook ram.....they are selling 1gb module ranging from rm500-rm700 shocking.gif. where as the same brand and model selling in online stores are in the range of rm300 only. any opinions?
*
Maybe that's why they called it the 'SPECIAL' RAM. smile.gif

Still no news on when the newer macbooks will arrive. I can't wait to smell mine!

Bootcamp's there, it's just not installed by default.

You can copy it from the following folder in Install Disc 1.

/Volumes/Mac OS X Install Disc 1/System/Installation/Packages

There you should see BootCamp.pkg. Running that with all the defaults puts the Boot Camp Assistant in /Applications/Utilities/

ok, first time in 8 months since i bought my macbook, i tried to burn a CD

and i can't
each time, it burns a bit for like 2-3 minutes, then it just spins noisily away...
tried to burn in finder, itunes, disk utility.. reset PRAM. still cannot

i can read CDs fine and system profiler can detect my drive.. Do you think its hardware issue ?
*
If you have bootcamp, you can try burning via Windows and see whether the same thing happens. If that's the case, it's time for you to send it back to Apple. If it works fine, try and download burning apps and see whether that works.

Hi, my friend got a MB 2 weeks ago. He complaint Office for Mac launching slow on his machine. I am thinking of getting 1 MB too but was discouraged by this new finding.

Anyone has the same experience here? is this normal?
*
Lauching time wise, Office 2007 beats 2008 hands down even in a virtual machine. I find it truly sluggish and I already maxed out my RAM. It gets even worst when you're editing a complex document. It's usable, but compared to 2007, it's pretty bad. I use Word and Excel mostly.

You just need to change the SMTP ports accordingly. Here's the instructions.

I experienced that before a couple of times before the 10.5.3 updates. Didn't noticed it since I upgraded.
