QUOTE(hapa @ Jan 22 2008, 01:11 AM) it depends on the end user. os x isn't a fully compatible gaming machine unlike windows.but, os x is very user friendly on pre-installed apps rather than downloading 3rd party apps in the windows. for me, i use both. my pc is just for gaming and my mac is for everything else like web browsing, chatting, e-mail, office and some graphic. if i have huge renders i usually just transfer to my pc to render. |

QUOTE(yongkailoon @ Jan 26 2008, 03:47 PM) Hello Abang pOp, haha actually quite simple to decide. How much is the keyboard protector and sleeves ? If it is not more than the RAM then take option 1 lor but if the protector and sleeves is more than RAM then take option 2 and then get the RAM stick from LYP. However I think no need until 3GB because Mac OS is very "clever" not like Windows keeps on eating your RAM and hunger for more. uhhh..saying that the mb doesn't need large amount of ram is very contradicting... |

QUOTE(-|JuStIn|- @ Feb 12 2008, 12:25 AM) Beware! apple newbie about to post. what is your definition of light gaming? in my book, light gaming is never new fps games.I'm considering getting a macbook or macbook pro for uni studies. The price diference is really BIG between the MB and MBP, so i'm wondering if the mbp is worth the money. 9k isn't petty cash by any means. I'm interested in a little photo editing as well as light-gaming, and i'm wondering if the MB with it's Intel GMA X3100 graphics processor is sufficient for that. I'm also curious about the real difference in performance between the MB & the MBP. Besides that, apple bundles in Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard, iLife, Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac Test Drive and iWork '08 (30-day trial). Does this mean i have to go purchase the Microsoft Office and iWork software? if so, how much would that hurt my wallet and is it a definite MUST to purchase the Microsoft Office to do word processing in university? If iWork is sufficient, is the format Microsoft Word and Excel use compatible with the iWork? coz it's really essential that i can do my assignments and co-op wif other Windows users. Any other relevant info is much appreciated. for college stuff, i highly recommend getting a black macbook with maximum ram adressing (4GB). that would be more than sufficient for college tasks and rendering. since your a student, you could get a mac office student edition or the one from pirates of the Caribbean(if you know what i mean). |

actually allvin, he was considering a mbp and "purchasing" softwares. i don't see why he wouldn't spend a little extra on a not so overrated black mac book
as we all know, apple isn't anything about specifications and fastest processing in the world. we all know what it's about |
