QUOTE(allvin @ Aug 17 2008, 06:53 PM) fyi, santa rosa is a platform name or chipset name, whereas penryn is processor codename. Current macbook/mbp is running penryn processor. If you wondering what is Centrino2, that's just another name again for next gen intel mobile family name. Lulz Blame intel for confusing you Thanks for the detailed info..

Should I get the old Macbook (RM3699) or the new Macbook (RM4799)?
Can't justify myself to spend extra RM1100.

QUOTE(nimrod323 @ Nov 21 2008, 09:32 AM) the difference is apparent. new macbook: 1066 BUS Nvidia 9400m integrated (its much more better than X3100,gaming arrived finally) DDR3 RAM much more faster than the 800 MHZ DDR2 Backlit LCD(The quality of the LCD is improved tremendously) Slimmer and lighter Lower powered processors(preserve battery) the list goes on. the 2.1 has many limitations if you have the money go for the new one mate. *Thanks String heheThanks guys.. but what if I just want to have a macbook not planning to upgrade.. not planning on gaming and not planning for movies.. Still the new Macbook should be my choice?

QUOTE(myxery @ Dec 6 2008, 12:11 PM) i saw apple's xmas promo ads in The Star Newspaper today... All Apple Premium/Authorize Reseller offer (Macbook/Macbook Pro purchase):- -Belkin messenger bag -Caselogic neoprene sleeve -Capdase keyboard sleeve -iBass speaker MacStudio offer (Macbook/Macbook Pro purchase):- -Cooling pad -Keyboard Skin -Cleaning kit -Mouse -Sleeve case -Dacota Backpack (worth RM300) The 1st option is definately very tempting.. but what does it mean by "All Apple Premium/Authorize Reseller"? From what I know, the price of the macbook is fixed by Apple and the only difference that the reseller can do is in terms of the free gifts/services that the individual shops could provide. But the statement above means all Authorize Reseller must have this Xmas promotion? Does it mean we will get it in Epicentre, Machines, MacCity, Switch, etc??
