i feel just let ur Bebe stay with u at room , cage put at room like mine..
i put cage at my room one wurt..because my mum scare ma fan got pee ar poo ar. =')
...

if your room has a toilet, or if you toilet train your MS's to pee and poo on special tissues (sold even in Jusco) then no need for cage at all... my two MSs snuggle up to me and my fiancee every night, and very seldom do the pee on the floor... i leave the toilet door open and that's where they do their business!

it is hard at first, but very rewarding... dogs are warm... very nice in an air conditioned room smile.gif

yes, it is indeed very rewarding... however i have noticed that many of the new owners end up caging their babies at night, which for me is terrible.

toilet tissue... err... i think it is cutie brand... more tissue less air according to my fiancee smile.gif
but now they have special giant sized tissue mats to help toilet train puppies... if only everyone would take the effort... and not hangat hangat tahi ayam, try once or twice, kenot then cage furkid all the time...

Don't buy clothes! Don't buy clothes! Furkids hate it... heheh better luck telling that to my fiancee...

Buy these for them instead;

http://www.ty.com/BowWowBeanies_home

Available at your local Memory Lane (prices range from RM16 plus to RM 26 plus)

So far my kids have

[attachmentid=291493]
[attachmentid=291494]
[attachmentid=291495]
[attachmentid=291496]
[attachmentid=291497]
[attachmentid=291498]

They are of very good quality, made from the same cloth material as ty beanies but stuffed with cotton, not beans. They have a squeeker and crunchy plastic bag bits inside. Quite durable and can be machine washed. Much better than 'normal' petstore toys.

The new garfield range looks nice, but i really want the retired snowman, moose and penguin designs... if anyone sees them alert me ok...

Your kids will enjoy these more than clothes... trust me, my fiancee has bought them one suitcase full of clothes but they still look as if they are wearing clothes to 'fu-hin' my fiancee sad.gif

Added on September 8, 2007, 2:15 pmI'm not entirely sure but my two furkids like soft toys better than hard chew toys, and most of the other MS owners agree as well...

For those worried about the colouring on your furkids soft toys i would say the worst place to get them toys would be from the pet stores themselves - why? Because the majority of the burgers etc are either made in China or Thailand and are brandless, hence no QC. From my experience, most are just lower grade normal children toys sad.gif
I have also gotten plastic chew toys that 'pecah' after being chewed on... mad.gif hopefully no bits got eaten. As such I no longer buy the 'no-brand' kind and usually stick to Nylabone, a bit more expensive but a lot more peace of mind.
As for the Ty toys, they too are made in China, however Ty is a very reputable beanie bear manufacturer and hopefully their QC is better. I won't want my kids chewing in lead painted toys sad.gif

Also on the subject of dog kibbles, please guys, you can do a lot lot better than Science Diet (or do they call themselves Science Plan nowadays). Google it up and you'll notice that it has as bad a rep as pedigree pal - at least pedigree is cheap. Science Plan is expensive and crap! doh.gif

I too have noticed that many are starting to feed blackwood. From what I've heard it is rather good. Never tried it though, cause the packaging appeals to me not! sweat.gif Nutro I'm not too familiar with.
I alternate between the Eagle Pack holistic varieties and add in a dash of Novacote plus. I feed very little - 40g a day which is one medium sized scoop. Anymore and my kids will put on extra weight (high protein coupled with low exercise blush.gif ). On weekends i substitute with Ceaser which i doubt is any good but they seem to enjoy it.

When both my furkids were puppies they had their fair amount of skin problems. The vets suggested a change of food (breeder used Science Diet) - and at that time there were three holistic choices - IIRC they were;

[attachmentid=291764]
California Natural Lamb n Rice Puppy Formula which gave both my kids diarrhea

[attachmentid=291765]
Canidae All Stages Food which I was prejudiced against as it wasn't a puppy formula - it was all-in-one (which on hindsight was stupid cause I have subsequently realised that the only difference in puppy food is its protein content)

[attachmentid=291766]
Hund n Focken Solid Gold Lamb n Rice Puppy Formula (long name init?). This one was the one I fed to my furkids and sure enough the skin problems vanished. I did not have to bring them for any skin dip etc in the vets whatsoever. As such, I conclude that this was indeed the best (but unfortunately most mahal) dog kibble around at that time. However, there was a period when this food was unavailable and had to be bought from Singapore hence the switch to Eagle Pack Holistic. I have however heard that the formula for solid gold was changed middle of last year but the good news is that it is now available quite reasonably priced at pet safari. Thinking about changing but Eagle Pack Holistic isn't giving my kids any problems either...

You guys going tomorrow for the carnival? I'll be going, but my kids will stay at home - fiancee not around so can only bring one, and as usual cannot decide who to bring so both stay home! whistling.gif

Looking at that list reminds me of an earlier dilemma...

Dogs do not naturally eat grains. Look at the packaging of your furkids gibbles... especially the Science Diet ones... the first few ingredients will inevitably be grain based. Btw, looking at the ingredients list is one of the easiest ways to tell the quality of the food first few ingredients i.e. the main ones should be meat based and ideally not meat meal - but that's another story altogether... go goggle it!

Of the local food (6 months ago, haven't had time to go food a hunting lately) this one is the only grainless one:

[attachmentid=291818]
Btw this looks like the new packaging

The official line - apply professional sceptisim as always smile.gif

I have seen Innova Evo being sold around here... but the 40% odd protein content (as opposed to 25-ish% in Eagle Pack Holistic) makes me wonder... Anyone out there with experience in using this food?

this time i must disagree... science diet/plan is as bad as any supermarket store. just because it is sold in pet stores and vets does not mean its any better.
i have seen the difference myself. dull itchy coat... until you change to a better food, you'll never know what shiny is.

Added on September 8, 2007, 11:07 pmbtw I am talking about plain old science diet and not science diet prescription which i've never used and costs an arm and a leg!

i am on a crusade against science diet - both my kids and my to be brother in laws pug developed skin problems when fed science diet and when we changed kibbles, the difference was noticable.
why not change now instead of changing 3 months down the road? Aside from the fact that there's a 7.5 kg kilo of the offending material sitting at home smile.gif What an earth was the rationale for the 7.5 kilos anyways - that's a lot of food for one MS pup, more likely than not it'll go stale before miki finishes it... seeing that my two adults take almost two months to finish up a similar sized bag!

Added on September 8, 2007, 11:19 pmever wondered why science diet and eukanuba have gift redemption plans?

err... feeding the wrong kibble does in fact actually harm your furkid... but what is the 'wrong' kibble differs for each puppy...
this much we agree on, correct?

what i disagree with is the fact that ppl tend to think that science diet is superior to pedigree or alpo... well, yes - superior marketing sad.gif

Added on September 8, 2007, 11:27 pmbtw if i recall correctly, MKA registered breeders can get a subsidy of Science Diet for each puppy which is why many breeders use this brand, which in turn makes the general public think that it is indeed superior... also remember the starter packs from vets, thats sponsored too

yes yes this is a discussion forum... but i am trying my best to point out why science diet is so 'popular', it's very clever marketing.
we all want the best for our furkids, no? and science diet is surely not - if it was, then why the change after 7 months?
no offense meant and hopefully none taken.

lol newbie, previously Copper is having Innova Evo but i simply cant stand the poo smell >_< unbearable larh D: now change to Nutro and it's much better biggrin.gif
*
innova evo = smelly poo? a lot of poo or a little bit only? no grain should mean less poo or am i wrong? I know that last week Siu Wan had upset tummy so both she and Siu Kat got chicken breast diet only, poo very very little.

innova evo's high protein content got any problem or not?

why 7.5 kg? that's a LOT! smile.gif

Pedigree's adverts are ethical (maybe misleading, but still ethical) as opposed to the underhanded ploys that science diet employs. Blah... enough about them already sad.gif
