QUOTE(jaunty_niel @ Sep 18 2007, 07:49 PM) sigh..cut d samor need 2 wrap it up wif bandage, den put some plastic thing inside 2 hold da ear up straight.. I posted pics earlier of Siu Kat a few days after the ear cropping.i think fall down cuter. wakakak.. It is painful and you will need to make at lest 3 trips to the vet to get the bandages cleaned. There is also a possibility that the cropped ears would not stand... hence many crop it really really short. I would not recommend cropping of ears to anyone, like what my dad said, "When you were a baby you had mickey mouse ears too, but i did not send you to have your ears mutilated, did I?" |

both of them litter mates IIRC, same size, same look, different colour!
Did a quick stocktake of my furkids toys, threw away a few much loved ragged ones, now left with these... [attachmentid=297426] This post has been edited by madmoz: Sep 18 2007, 09:55 PM |

hahah i am sure after two years you guys will have as many toys, if not even more... go jalan jalan... eh, this one nice, buy... that one nice buy...
zeist, i normally get them from pet stores, some form s'pore - the ones with the big mata very cool, ultrasonic squeker, dogs can here, we cannot - no more 'pit pit' tengah malam... jaunty, toys have to rotate lor... some always end up missing under bed, table etc... these are the durable ones... the rosak ones thrown away already, scared furkids makan the pieces... |

i would say you guys/girls should learn, or rather your furkids should learn to let you pluck the hair in their ear canal, as dirty ears are a surefire way to ear mites
It is difficult at first, but as always be firm and they will eventually let you. Or perhaps the 'fu-hin' you as they want the treat they know they will get once everything is done heheh! grooming isn't all that hard once you've learnt how to keep your dog still, i.e. squirm free... my fiancee picked it up quite fast, now we go full grooming once every 6 months, in between she just trims back the look. The photos, most of it the grooming done DIY as I've seen a few groomers nick my babies accidentally... some even hit them real hard on the butt or nose to make them stay still My fiancee is thinking about learning how to groom professionally as we feel like opening a dogstore of our own later on... your furkids volunteered as 'pak lou shi'? bwahahah... |

the misai type is his wiry coat... the more and the more even he better according to the breed standard...
shaving cuts it off, stripping and rolling the coat will leave this intact... siu kat doesn't really have much of a second coat, but siu wan does... incidently she is white but this coat is black. Added on September 19, 2007, 2:42 pmperhaps syrian will oblide us by inserting a proper breed standard on MS from one of the kennel associations in the first page... QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Sep 18 2007, 09:16 PM) ...Because not every MS have nice natural drop ears, so for show purpose, they crop the ears so all MS will look equal and standard... Not entirely true Mr Mod...The modern day MS is a legacy of his humble beginnings as a rat catcher. Why did those germans not keep cats i have no idea The MS was expected to chase the rats thru bushes and right into their burrows. Hence the docked tail, the pointy cropped ears and dew claw removal. This is to stop the dog from getting tangled in thick undergrowth and thus injuring itself. The cropped ears, coupled with the furry muzzle and bushy brows also served as armour against the rats attacks to the dogs face. Ditto the furry legs n chest area. All served as protection for the MS. Nowadays owever, everything is cosmetic, and the only rats that my two furkids can catch are available from IKEA for around RM19 IIRC This post has been edited by madmoz: Sep 19 2007, 04:26 PM |
