Just curious if there's side effects of using earplugs every night to muffle snoring noise from your partner?

Before this I used 3M brand for traveling. Noise cancelling kinda so so. Been thinking about trying to this brand now but I'm not sure about the quality. Based on reviews seems like Mack's has wide range selection to suit your needs and they're all well received.

For me is OK but my ear keeps producing more ear wax either using earplugs or listening to earphone. Need to clean after everytime using them.

Any discomfort or feeling difficulty in breathing after using 4-5 hours?

just make sure you use multiple pairs and sanitise/wash them regularly

May I know what brand you use now? Does the earplugs get damaged after frequent cleaning?

No discomfort and the noise cancelling is fantastic. If they stick out from your ears too much, I would imagine some discomfort when lying on your side.

Why would it cause breathing difficulty?

I would suggest to change them frequently as opposed to washing. You are inserting them into a bodily crevice.

Thanks. Haven't tried to use it for sleeping tho. But previous brand when I left them on for around 3 hours I did feel difficult to breathe not sure why. Maybe it just my body or the earplugs weren't suitable for me.

Will going to try that Mack's small pack first. If it's alright with me I'll buy big bottle version.

Maybe it’s too quiet and your body needs to adjust or it could be due to a buildup of pressure in your ears? If you’re a side sleeper you could try plugging only one side and see if it helps. Just rest the unplugged side on your pillow to block out any noise.

About the pressure.
Will they reduce the pressure inside my ears if lying flat first? I do turn my sides when sleeping.

Not sure though as it hasn't bothered me so far. Maybe try one side for one night, then both sides on the second night and see which works best for you?

How do you wake up to your alarm clock if you use earplugs? Do you wear a watch vibration alarm?

Generic or the ones that comes with earphones. But then around the earcups also does the same thing. I guess it's my sweaty ears

I haven't tried Mack, will the soft foam cause any itchness using it? I tend to have sweaty ears and also sleep on sides. Last time i also tried 3M with strings attached to both earplugs. I find it discomfort with it when sleep on side.

Hi TS, there should be no hazardous side effects when you wear earplugs to sleep on regular basis. The only potential issues down in the road is that you could have accumulated earwax build up down in the road as you habitually pushing in your earwax with the earplugs (same goes with earbuds, ear digging with cotton buds). It's quite a common for hearing aid users too as they are wearing ear pieces on daily basis.

Been using it for 2 nights already. Surprisingly good and soft plus easy to insert too compared to 3M brand. No irritation so far and noise cancelling was fine too I managed to get peaceful sleep as well. Today I used them while reading for 1 hour, really comfy.

I picked the type that fits smaller ear canal,purple colour. You can try the smaller pack first. Next 3.3 Shopee I'll get the big bottle version.

Thanks for replying. Yes I'm happy with my new earplugs now. No side effects as I feared before. I forgot my grandpa's brother also was hearing aid user too he wore it on daily basis.
