im interested to the nova 7 5g model, i know it doesnt come with GMS, but the only important thing to me is whatsapp, i know we can download the apk from whatsapp official website , but is the incoming messsage notification work well? because last time i bought a china rom redmi also without GMS, after install whatssapp the notification doesnt come in when the phone is in idle, only receive the notification when i manually open the app..

it looks like whatsapp is using one of the google push notifications service. so if huawei without gms the push notifications will not work correctly

WhatsApp notification works perfectly for phone without gms. Used P40 Pro and mate 40 Pro for close to a year without problem.

Only issue is Huawei aggressively kills app in the background so you only need to set the right setting and notifications will be OK.

Yes. For my usage, notifications doesn't work on Gmail, carousell, time tree.
