Current DDR5 is e-wastehttps://www.reddit.com/r/intel/comments/u4k...ing_sold_now_isQUOTE The JEDEC standard dictates that the top DDR5 speed is DDR5-8400 while overclocked DDR5-12600 has been announced. If you buy DDR5 now, you are buying e-waste since future DDR5 CPUs will be considered handicapped with anything less than DDR5-8400 memory. Hi guys, should i upgrade my proc to current gen?
Currently i'm using i7 8700k with RTX3080, majority will be purely on gaming only.
Will moving to i5 12600/12400 makes much different in gaming performance? Or should i just wait for next gen?

https://videocardz.com/newz/gigabyte-announ...-related-issuesFor anybody with an AORUS Z690I Ultra out there. Just reinstates that you should always avoid Gigabyte at all costs when it comes to motherboards. For the most parts it's the sub par BIOS... this time they even screwed up even bigger.

Got mine for massive discount. Crappy BIOS is expected. Its my other rig. Not a problem doing the exchange. Sadly, ITX space is sad for Alder Lake Asus ROG Strix Z690-I - DDR5 and ridiculous price Asus ROG Strix B660-I - DDR5 MSI Z690i Unify - DDR5 and probably high price Gigabyte B660i Aorus Pro - Single M.2 Biostar B660GTN - no USB-C All Asrock - crap VRM This post has been edited by TristanX: May 14 2022, 10:14 AM

Upgraded from 2700X to 12700K. Cinebench R20 result is more than double from previous build. But the CPU temp immediately shoot up to 102c when start test. CPU power consumption goes to 220w I follow this guide undervolt to 1.29 and offset -0.12 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0plFO6t_VsGot better result, lower temp and power only until 151w

Your power only goes to 211w? You already limit it? Review that I read it can go till 240w
