No, not necessarily faulty PSU, but definitely related.

I had the EXACT same issue with my Corsair RM750i.

My RM750i, being "i" model, i can monitor PSU realtime current draw, volts and internal Temp.

After plaguing me for 1 month, and countless troubleshooting on my part, turns out that the cause is my PSU Overheated during heavy gameplay, and The PSU shutdown to protect itself, but the effect is my Asus MOBO detected as power surge, just like TS!

Turns out when i set the PSU FAN to start automatically when under load (zero speed at light loads), fan starts ONLY at high load, not moderate load. Temp protection kick in at 50degC (slightly low, design issue, corrected in next gen), but at moderate load my temp already hovering at 46 degC (PSU placement and orientation issue). So a few minutes into game, will get surge protection fault in BIOS on a hot day, but less occurrence on cold nights.

After i set the fan to run at 40degC even when no load, then ramp to 100% at 48DegC, no issue even when gaming at 550W for the whole day.

So TS, if your PSU is more than 5 years old, replace it.

If its new, try to keep it cool by increasing PSU fan speed if possible.

if not then change PSU orientation, or generally keep CPU internal air temp low by reconfiguring intake and exhaust fans,
such that when PSU fan exhausting air from your case, lower case air temp can cool PSU more.

First world problem arguably, but hope it helps.

I never knew my condo suffers from power surges until I installed two Powerlink line-interactive UPS in the room.

They will switch to battery power whenever they detect a surge, and they make a racket beeping doing it. I Zoom for work a lot, so I beh tahan edy...

Powerlink tech support suggests plugging both UPS units into an AVR to stop them from beeping.

No wonder I had 3 PSUs die on me in the past. My home theater AV receiver so died... I need to get an AVR for the stuff my living room too...

Agreed with what ZZR-Pilot had said earlier. Go get "Automatic voltage regulator" aka AVR to confirm, and if the problem still appearing change your PSU.

Yes. APC 650VA is a UPS 650 VA. If you don't need the backup battery, go for Right Power TR1000-LE 1000 VA.

That shop Gadget IT in JB sells APC AVRs damn cheap.

I paid only RM75 for an APC Line-R 1500VA (LS1500-MS) unit. That damn wikked.

3 days to arrive by Poslaju.

My PowerLink 1500VA UPS is line-interactive, which means it is also an AVR. However, it performs this function by tripping back to battery supply whenever it detects little sags or surges in the power supply. And whenever it does that, it beeps like hell and I can't work when both my UPS units keep beeping like hell.

So I plugged my UPS into another APC 1500VA AVR that quietly takes care of the sags and surges. This way the UPS won't keep tripping back to batt supply whenever there's a surge. If there is a large surge/sag big enough to cause the AVR to cut off the power, then the UPS battery power can kick in until the surge/sag goes away.

No wonder UPS got random click click sound while connected to pc I thought power trip. Both ups and pc also gone. Now left only laptop.

Laptop adapter got random thug thug sound connected direct to power this one I also thought power trip.

Long term any side effect to laptop since I never remove battery and dont have UPS or AVR?

if this is only happening to your condo ...you may have faulty wiring, poor wire contacts or a faulty eqm like AC or fridge.
